Out of the Box: Look of the Week

11 Mar

This is our first “Out of the Box” post-award season post and guess what? There are still plenty of amazing outfits, events and magazine covers to admire/covet/gaze over. From teen girl superstars to The Americans with a dash of Paris Fashion Week and Broadway openings; we’ve got a wide range of looks from fancy pants to casual cool.

W MagazineTeen girls taking over the world one magazine cover at a time and this new ‘Dream Teens’ issue is gonna look great on my coffee table. When discussing Kiernan Shipka’s Dazed feature I mentioned this factor as once again there is an element of direct confrontation in their gaze which is so appealing and there is something incredibly powerful about this shot of Shipka, Willow Smith and Zendaya. The other photos from the editorial are just as strong and you can check those out here along with individual interviews. I am so excited to see what they all do next. Keri RussellOver at Tom and Lorenzo they remarked that this black Gucci ruffled number is an optical illusion of a dress as from the front you can’t tell that Keri Russell is pregnant, but the side view makes it very clear. Either way, Russell looks fantastic at the season 4 Americans premiere and the vampy lipstick color hits all the right notes.

This is a very different look from the Valentino frock she wore on The Late Show last week showing there are plenty of options for fancy maternity wear. The stacked Gucci platforms are kind of insane (pregnant or not) in close up form, but work from the front in this shot.Alison WrightAlso at The Americans season 4 premiere is Alison Wright taking a break from pussy bows, anguished faces and giant 80s hair in a printed Mary Katrantzou delight. Plus pocket points! Julia GarnerKeeping with The Americans theme and Julia Garner attended the Miu Miu Paris Fashion Week show this week in this super cute and sophisticated look. There’s no word as to whether Kimmy will be in season 4, but Garner has been taking the fashion world by storm modelling for Miu Miu, hitting the Balenciaga runway and featuring on the cover of Italian VogueAlicia VikanderParis Fashion Week has definitely delivered on the outerwear front and recent Oscar winner Alicia Vikander attended the Louis Vuitton show – it is the brand she models for after all – in a fantastic blue and white coat. The rest of the outfit is also very Vikander cool and hopefully we will be seeing more Louis Vuitton creations like her sequin SAG and Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty dresses. Lupita Nyong'o and Danai GuriraDanai Gurira has been crushing it all areas – writing, acting, fashion – and at the Eclipsed opening night afterparty she wore this very pretty and colorful flowing Schiaparelli gown, which is ideal for twirling in. Ruffles are big this week and Lupita Nyong’o works this trend with aplomb in green plunging Balmain and her new InStyle cover also embraces this color in the best possible way. Adding to my magazine ‘to buy’ list.Olivia WildeOlivia Wilde has directed a music video for Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes causing instant thoughts of Marnie’s dream wedding aesthetic on Girls. This is also a really great casual outfit for a moment like this; once again proving that Wilde delivers on both the fancy pants events and the more dress down occasions.

NYFW Fantasy Costuming: Diane von Furstenberg’s Strong 70s Aesthetic is Ideal for Vinyl

16 Feb

The Diane von Furstenberg show is always high on the most anticipated list in part because of the pre-ladysuit Alana Bloom costume stylings and because Furstenberg creates plenty of pieces that can be worn by women on television from an array of eras. This RTW Fall 2016 collection has a huge 70s influence – the iconic DVF wrap dress celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2014 – continuing the recent trend of delving back into my favorite style decade and running with it.

In somewhat perfect timing Vinyl started this week and it isn’t a leap when suggesting these garments are ideal for this show. Fabrics such as suede, leather, tweed and printed silk shirts aplenty make this super 1970s friendly with knee length, floor skimming and leg bearing in equal measure. So much brown, purple, sequins and pattern clashing with a mixture of boho and disco further add to the strong visual impact of the era when Diane von Furstenberg’s signature wrap dress first came onto the scene.

Here are a few of the standout pieces from this runway show that would look amazing on Olivia Wilde, Birgitte Hjort Sørensen and Juno Temple on Vinyl.DVF 2

DVF 6

DVF 14

DVF 3

DVF 12There is a slight hint of The Americans and Elizabeth Jennings, travel agent in some of the suede skirt/boots/silk shirts and the 80s didn’t become THE EIGHTIES until later in the decade (also Elizabeth is not one for fads).

For a look at those pieces plus so many more that are ideal for Vinyl click on the gallery below.

For another NYFW Fantasy Costuming line-up check out who we think the Kate Spade New York collection is ideal for here and stay tuned for more this week.

Out of the Box: Look of the Week

12 Feb

The Oscar train keeps on keeping on with the nominee luncheon and a whole lot of excellent daytime looks to show off. Plus more award shindigs and events bring out the sartorial delights. New York Fashion Week kicked off yesterday so expect to see plenty of things related to that next week on the site. Brie LarsonStarting with the most adorable and Jacob Tremblay continues to show the older dudes how it is done in another fantastic suit. The dash of orange on his tie pairs nicely with Brie Larson’s pink and white Emilia Wickstead ensemble and I am all for subtle not quite matching. Mixing stripes with beaded embellished eyes (that kinda look like caterpillars) makes for a super playful look.Alicia VikanderAlicia Vikander is comfortable making bold fashion choices, but she is also content with sticking to the simpler end of the scale and Vikander has done both of these things in Louis Vuitton. I’m guessing she will be wearing the brand she models for come Oscar Sunday and hopefully they can deliver another knockout.Deniz Gamze ErguvenMustang director Deniz Gamze Ergüven went for a pattern that is reminiscent of wall tiles, which doesn’t sound all that complimentary but it really is. I am also very much looking forward to seeing Mustang, which has been nominated for Best Foreign Language Film.Saoirse Ronan#LadySuitWatch2016 shorts and tweed edition from Saoirse Ronan. Deal me in. Also Saoirse Ronan’s profile in the fashion issue of New York Magazine this week is such a great example of bold editorial choices that really work.  Rooney MaraA very Rooney Mara choice in Giambattista Valli that is maybe more delicate romantic than goth fairy tale. Just a random observation, but strappy sandals are the shoe of choice for most of the “Out of the Box” Oscar luncheon picks this week. Rachel McAdamsOpting for a dress that is half sheer over the very cute and somewhat twee (so my wheelhouse) dress Rachel McAdams wore to the Oscar nominees luncheon also surprised me, but somehow sequinned Michael Kors is the key to this non-scroll down nightmare at the DGA Awards. Mindy KalingMindy Kaling described her P.A.R.O.S.H. aTVfest 2016 panel outfit as “going for colorful hipster carpet” and I love both this title and the whole look. Those yellow Christian Louboutin pumps are also excellent. If the matching top and cardigan was all the shades of brown it would definitely look like the carpet in my parents’ house.Olivia WildeOlivia Wilde is very on point with her very 70s pants and blouse ensemble while promoting Vinyl (starts this Sunday) on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert this week. Shockingly with my fondness of all things fashion from this decade I am in love with this look.

Celebrating the Elle “Women in TV” Issue: Best of the Red Carpet

21 Jan

Elle’s annual Women in TV issue hit it out of the park this year with five fabulous covers and content featuring a lot of the ladies who attended last night’s dinner celebration. There’s plenty of pattern, color and twists on black ensembles that manage to make an impact in this VERY crowded red carpet season.

Priyanka ChopraStarting with the cover stars (sadly Taraji P. Henson and Julia Louis-Dreyfus were not in attendance) and the color of this Vionnet dress is incredible on Priyanka Chopra. It’s also giving off so many summer vibes, which considering how many layers of wool based clothes I’m wearing right now means the levels of envy are high.

Viola DavisA fun take on the LBD from Viola Davis in Carmen Marc Valvo and a whole lot of excellent accessories to boot including a fabulous mirrored Vince Camuto clutch.

Olivia WildeOlivia Wilde made our Best Dressed end of year list in a (different) leather jacket and once again she puts this garment to excellent use over the Rocky Horror themed Marc Jacobs dress. Amazing Kurt Geiger shoes round this whole look off rather well.

Constance WuSuch a simple and yet super effective ensemble from Constance Wu and the green clutch adds that extra pow to the whole thing.

Constance ZimmerMore excellent green decisions from another Constance and suede is not the easiest of fabrics to pull off in dress form, but Constance Zimmer does so with ease. This has been a very good week for her.

Aja Naomi King and Yara ShahidiLove the relaxed ease of Yara Shahidi’s shirt dress even if I would definitely wear a different shoe to go with it and they would work much better with something shorter such as Aja Naomi Kings’ white mini delight.

Sara RafterySarah Rafferty’s outfit combines a lot of things I love right now – a bold floral pattern, pockets and a black turtleneck

Busy PhilippsBusy Philipps looks super funky in a black and white mini and it is the extra flourishes from her very non-beige pumps to the Olympia Le-Tan Jane Eyre embroidered clutch (my ultimate wish list includes The Bell Jar from this collection) that make this one of the standouts from the night.

Samira WileyAn effortless chic look from Samira Wiley in a classic black jumpsuit.

Melanie LynskeyCombing two of the big current trends – bold color with florals – is Melanie Lynskey in this hot pink frock and I’m really looking forward to Togetherness being back on TV next month.

Lana ParrillaOnce Upon a Time’s Lana Parrilla gold sequin infused dress is pretty much my ideal outfit for an event like this; sparkly, not too tight and with a hint of the 1970s.

Kirsten DunstMore Marc Jacobs for the evening and the only thing I would add here is Kirsten Dunst’s lipstick from the Critics’ Choice Awards.Gillian JacobsAnother outfit that could be boosted with a bold lip color, but Gillian Jacobs is giving off all the cool vibes in this front zipped LBD even if those shoes look a whole lot painful.

Behind the Insta-Scenes: Photos from the Set

20 Jan

More fancy pants behind the scenes shenanigans with a relaxed edge at the Critics’ Choice Awards. Plus babies, celebrating the return of Agent Carter and some A+ 70s outfits.

Will Forte showed that his new half-shaved look wasn’t just a onetime TCA affair (his entire body is like this, yep everything) and gave Justin Theroux’s expressive eyebrows a workout of Leftovers proportions at the Critics’ Choice Awards.

At least some of us are having fun at the @criticschoice awards 😉 #janethevirgin

Award shows can all get a bit much for some. The Jane the Virgin table also featured heavily in reactions to the super adorable Jacob Tremblay. They are all of us.

Congrats to the winners.

A smorgasbord of pattern clashing and bold color from the many outfit changes for Mindy Kaling on The Mindy Project. Even by this shows standards this is a lot for one day and it’s hard to pick a favorite; edging toward the floral sweater and pajamas with the dragonfly dress also wrestling for top place.

While I’m on the subject of jeans – I am coveting these ones Gina Rodriguez is wearing hard and the whole 70s vibe of this outfit is ticking all the boxes.

Going full 1970s and the Vinyl costuming is part of the reason why I am looking forward to this show. Those glasses are everything.

Elle’s ‘Women in TV’ Issue Gives Us Plenty of Reasons to Cheer

13 Jan

TV themed issues of fashion magazines brings two of my big loves together (I am still mourning the end of the Nylon’s annual TV celebration even though I’m now way older than the target demo) and Elle does one of the best. It has not been without a few issues in the past including the 2014 multi-cover selection that went in a different (albeit very beautiful) direction for Mindy Kaling as opposed to the other four (white) actresses. Last year saw them ditch this format opting to showcase only Lena Dunham, but thankfully for the 2016 issue they have returned to my preferred several recipients layout. And they have picked their cover stars well.

It is also interesting to note that while streaming platforms are definitely making their mark in a big way, when it comes to the shows these women represent network has three out of the five and cable has the other two.

First up the lady of the hour and winner of Best Actress in a Drama at the Golden Globes.

Taraji P. HensonTaraji P. Henson was on our favorite magazine cover of 2015 and this is another powerful image that doesn’t go down the obvious ‘dress as a version of Cookie’ route. Fearless, sexy and making me want to invest in red leather.

Priyanka ChopraAll of the covers demand the viewer returns the strong gaze of the woman featured and Quantico’s Priyanka Chopra is serving up so much face. Tyra would be proud.

Julia Louis-DreyfussMore hair touching and Julia Louis-Dreyfus might have had her ‘last fuckable day’ in this Amy Schumer sketch, but this is proving she is anything but (even if Hollywood thinks Maggie Gyllenhaal at 37 is too old to play the love interest of a 55 year old).

Olivia WildeIn fact Olivia Wilde at the age of 31 is the youngest of the cover stars proving that TV is the place to find interesting roles for woman (see also Keri Russell’s comments here).

Viola DavisLast but most definitely not least is another fantastic Viola Davis 2016 cover and while the other woman are giving off oh so serious facial expressions with a hint of knowing smirk from Olivia Wilde, I love that Davis is a full on smile shot.

I am pretty happy that because I get the digital issue I’m not going to have to decide which one I want as I’ll get all five – if I had to choose Taraji would probably edge out the rest by the narrowest of margins – and the issue is available on select newsstands from today (January 13) and nationwide on January 19. Stay tuned for our coverage of the celebration dinner that will take place January 20 and for behind-the-scenes Twitter/Instagram action follow #ELLEWITV on this day.

Best of the Golden Globes 2016 Red Carpet: Twinkle, Twinkle Big Star

11 Jan

Welcome to our coverage of the 2016 Golden Globes red carpet coverage and while the actual show was pretty hit and miss, the style levels did not disappoint. We’ve got quite a few posts coming and kicking things off is the big trend of the night with all that sparkles. The best thing about this other than appealing to my inner magpie is how much variety there is with this theme.

Let’s get to it and keep checking back for more posts.

Brie LarsonEven if Brie Larson hadn’t won her custom Calvin Klein is giving off all the trophy vibes in the best possible way.

Regina KingRegina King combines bold gold sequins with a cape in Krikor Jabotian and someone write a superhero part for her please. I’ve already seen this on some worst dressed lists, but I love it.

Portia DoubledayMr Robot won big much to my delight (late to the party, but I just finished it yesterday) and Portia Doubleday is going full disco ball in this stunning Naeem Khan frock.

Viola DavisMoving into the shades of blue and Viola Davis could light up a galaxy in this starry eyed Marchesa delight (not something I say very often about Marchesa).

Jenna Dewan TatumSorry Channing and your Gambit hair, it’s all about Jenna Dewan-Tatum in Zuhair Murad Couture. Also ticking those all important pocket boxes.

Bryce Dallas HowardDuring Bryan Dallas Howard’s interview on E! she revealed that she bought this beautiful Jenny Packham frock from Neiman Marcus because as a size 6 (size 10 UK) she doesn’t get all that much choice for events like this, which is sadly not surprising and maddening all the same. It does show that off the rack is just as good as the sample size offerings that other stars are privy too.

Julianna MooreJulianne Moore came with Tom Ford and is wearing Tom Ford (A Single Man rewatch is on the cards) and she looks like she has time traveled from an amazing 1970s party and is somehow making the velvet choker aspect work. She truly is magical.

Carly ChaikinMore sartorial treats from the Mr Robot cast and these ladies have been killing it this weekend with Carly Chaikin going part mermaid in iridescent Juan Carlos Obando.

Olivia WildeCustom Michael Kors for Olivia Wilde and she’s switching out emerald shimmer for burgundy and it is just as mesmerizing. There was a lot to love about Wilde’s red carpet styling in 2015 and it looks like this year is no different.

Amy AdamsRounding things out is Amy Adams offering up sparkly accents in orange Atelier Versace proving you can be a redhead and wear this shade.

Stay tuned for more Golden Globes red carpet posts and for a look at what we loved last year head here.

Out of the Box: Look of the Week – Best of 2015 Part 1

24 Dec

We have written about a lot of outfits both on and off screen this year and the 2015 Best Of series turns its attention toward our Look of the Week column, which has featured a whole host of red carpet appearances, magazine covers/editorial styling and many other sartorially infused events. Here is the first part of our “Out of the Box” rundown showcasing our favorites from a very stylish year.

Best Magazine Cover

Taraji P Henson WTaraji P. Henson has appeared on a lot of covers this year and this Diana Ross inspired shoot for W had my jaw on the floor and it is why this issue is still sat on my coffee table. What I love about this image is that it is so simple and yet so incredibly sexy in a way that is so far from Cookie (who is also incredibly sexy).

Best Cape

Ruth WilsonAt the summer TCA CBS, CW and Showtime party Ruth Wilson wore a stunning caped flamingo Valentino frock and had me dreaming of sunshine and sipping on a margarita.

Best Gingham

Lizzy CaplanFor her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Lizzy Caplan not only looked super summer cool in a black and white gingham Lela Rose dress, but she also brought up the WB with fellow guest Jon Hamm. Switching out Birkenstocks for black pumps from the backstage walk to the show also showcases how to dress up/down this outfit.

Most on Point Dress

Kate MaraWhen the movie you are promoting is set in space it might be a tad on the nose to wear a dress this intergalactic, but I say go with it and Kate Mara did just that in this stunning Valentino number.

Best Leather Jacket

Olivia WildeOlivia Wilde has been a regular in these parts for the last few months rocking a variety of styles and this leather jacket over floral Valentino (a brand doing very well in this end of year listicle) gives this an edge over the other outfit faves. Trusty red pumps have been worn on multiple occasions by Wilde and work with everything from 70s inspired to color blocking.

Best Leather Pants

Keri Russell Seth MeyersKeri Russell favors leather in all forms whether skirts, jumpsuits or pants and as her Late Night with Seth Meyers ensemble demonstrates she looks cool as fuck mixing a show tee with heels, black blazer and these leather pants. The pop of lip color gives an extra kick and I am always thankful that makeup artist Tina Turnbow shares what brands she uses (and I was very lucky to be gifted this lipstick earlier this year).

Best Playsuit

Kristen StewartPlaysuits can be hard to pull off, but Kristen Stewart is effortless chic in sequinned Zuhair Murad with legs going for miles. At the time I mentioned how much I enjoyed the fact that she lost the heels and walked most the red carpet barefoot and I still do. A lady after my own heart.

Best Jumpsuit

Rebecca FergusonRebecca Ferguson was a revelation in Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation and she also stood out at the London Premiere in this stunning DVF Jumpsuit. This was just before I wore my very own DVF dress at my soon to be brother-in-law’s wedding and I was very excited about all of this (as you can tell).

Best LadySuit

Amandla Stenberg#LadySuitWatch2015 has been TV Ate My Wardrobe’s most used hashtag this year and when I saw Amandla Stenberg’s Dazed photoshoot in which she rocks this look I pretty much screamed in delight. Stenberg has been killing it all over social media with her super smart and observant takes on everything from cultural appropriation to how teenagers get discredited for their opinions just because of their age. I can’t wait to see what she does in 2016.

Best Floral Suit

Michael B Jordan VogueThis year has cemented the notion that Michael B. Jordan can wear suits in any color or pattern from Vivienne Westwood plaid to textured D&G at the Met Gala. And he graced the pages of Vogue in another D&G floral suit; this time showing he could work something even bolder.

Best Polka Dots and Stripes

Emma StoneThis is pretty much my platonic ideal of any outfit.

Best Co-Star Pockets, Patterns and Giggles

Maisie and SophieThey haven’t spent any time on screen together since season 1 and photos like this of Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams have me longing for the day the Stark sisters will be reunited and then burn the place to the fucking ground. Thankfully due to all the Game of Thrones press commitments we get plenty of delightful off screen moments like this. Clothing wise Maisie Williams has pledged allegiance to dresses with pockets and Sophie Turner is doing strong patterned work here at the GoT premiere.

Best Sweater – Part 1

Matt BomerThere is nothing not adorable about this Matt Bomer look.

Best Sweater – Part 2

Cobie SmuldersIf there is one sweater I coveted more than any other in 2015 it is this Coach space themed knitwear as worn by many including Cobie Smulders at Sundance.

Best Front Row Watching at NYFW

Natasha Lyonne and Nicki MinajTwo Nickis – one real, one fictional – at the Alexander Wang NYFW runway show back in February and I am always fond of the random groupings at fashion events.

Best Fashion Campaign

Samira WileyA campaign which still makes me gasp all these months later and Samira Wiley is crushing it for Christian Siriano.

Best Lady Hangout

Broad City premiereSquad Goals is one phrase which has been used to an exhausting degree in 2015 (by myself included), but yeah I’m going to have to use it here because this is an ultimate lady hangout situation.

Stay tuned for Part 2 next week and Happy Holidays!

Out of the Box: Look of the Week

11 Dec

“Out of the Box” is a mostly movie affair this week including premieres, celebrations and awards aplenty. Oh and a small press tour of sorts has really kicked into gear. Sartorial highs come in a variety of forms and this week’s edition includes mini frocks, floor length affairs, ladysuits and so many patterns in the mix.

Lupita Nyong'oHappy Friday! And this shot of Lupita Nyong’o in Mexico City on the Star Wars: The Force Awakens press tour is full of so much joy and instantly makes me smile. As I mentioned earlier this week she is really working the quilted jacket (never an easy task) and this is a fun mix of casual retro cool with fancy futuristic cool in silver Louis Vuitton. Oh hey there smiling Oscar Isaac in the background.

Daisy RidleyMore Star Wars treats with Daisy Ridley wearing a very Alana Bloom looking ladysuit in Christian Dior Resort 2016 checks and Ridley is already making fashion waves in this slightly bonkers get-up. This is already meeting my high expectations for this press tour. Now all we need is some Gwendoline Christie.

Zosia MametI like this starry print dress on Zosia Mamet at the Sisters premiere a lot and not just because I already own something similar. Definitely the kind of thing you could dress down with knit tights and boots or up as Mamet has done here. Last week saw the first full Girls season 5 trailer released and I’m really looking forward to the new season.

Saoirse RonanAnother dress to be filed under ‘super cute and also kind of festive’ with Saoirse Ronan wearing a sparkly delight at the 2015 British Independent Film Awards.

Carey MulliganNow Carey Mulligan’s Gucci number is not so easy to pull off as there is A LOT going on and yet I think she is totally pulling it off. She also put a bird on it for the British Independent Film Awards.

Liv TylerMore long sleeve long gown pattern glory at ‘An Evening Honoring Valentino’ with Liv Tyler in Valentino (naturally) and this is giving me so many Pre-Raphaelites painting vibes (and especially this Ophelia painting). It has been a very good week for Liv Tyler and now all we need is for The Leftovers to get renewed.

Diane KrugerMore Valentino dark romanticism with a caped feather creation that might fall into the Diane Kruger is a Magical Fashion Unicorn category. Between the feathers and the green hue I am also getting flashbacks to Keri Russell’s Met Gala Altuzarra gown.

Olivia WildeContinuing a strong end of year red carpet presence in so many different styles is Olivia Wilde who has become an “Out of the Box” regular and this time she is killing it at The Hollywood Reporter’s Annual Women In Entertainment Breakfast. There is something so Katherine Hepburn about this Marc Jacobs ensemble and I am in love with this entire look.

Constance ZimmerConstance Zimmer does a different kind of cool at the Hollywood Reporter breakfast and this is an ideal daytime event outfit. Just with a whole lot of spill potential. Excellent red lipstick and shoe choice.

Kris and Selma BlairThis is not an endorsement of whatever is going on with Kris Jenner’s outfit (it looks like an unfinished craft project), but I can’t pass up the opportunity of showing IRL Kris Jenner embracing the American Crime Story Kris Jenner. I am so ready for this mini-series. Also Selma Blair looks really great here (also wearing a dress which would not be my first choice when near food/drink).

Out of the Box: Look of the Week

12 Nov

For once on “Out of the Box” we’ve got more pants than frocks and it’s not just ladysuits hitting those sartorial highs. It is fun to mix things up especially as there has already been a fancy shindig this week that featured plenty of fabulous looks.

Keri RussellKeri Russell loves a leather pant and this all black ensemble that she wore to the Sierra Club’s “Act in Paris, A Night of Comedy and Climate Action” is very much her signature fuss free style. That doesn’t mean to say it’s a boring outfit and the variety of textures elevate the look. A slightly darker red lipstick is very welcome especially paired with this up do. For a bolder Keri Russell color palette take a gander at these Americans season 4 filming photos. Actual screaming at those boots.

Olivia WildeThis is Olivia Wilde’s third appearance on “Out of the Box” in almost as many weeks and while each one has been distinctive in its own way; the choice of shoe color has remained the same. Red pumps have given each look an extra pop and I am in love with this 70s inspired spin on tailored menswear that Wilde chose to wear for the Hollywood Reporter’s Indie Contenders roundtable. Yes I am thrilled that another roundtable season is upon us. The windowpane check high waisted Houghton pants are pure Annie Hall and the Kate Spade New York blouse adds a feminine twist.

Brit MarlingOh hey there Brit Marling! You can join #LadySuitWatch2015 with this flamboyant Gucci Resort pink affair at the LACMA 2015 Art+Film Gala. The pants are perhaps a little on the baggy side, which is giving me nostalgic flashbacks to everything 90s, but it’s still working like a charm. And one thing all the ladies in pants have in common this week is interesting collar/tie/scarf details.

Charlotte RamplingQueen Charlotte Rampling looking chic as hell at the AFI Fest event honoring Tom Courtney and her.

Kirsten DunstTaking a break from swooning over Kirsten Dunst’s Fargo costuming to bask in the delight which is this very pretty Rodarte dress.

Kirsten Dunst Net a PorterAnd now for swooning over Kirsten Dunst’s Net-a-Porter magazine editorial featuring a whole array of ladysuits; making it so on point with the overall theme of this week’s “Out of the Box.” Total kismet.

Taraji P. HensonTaraji P. Henson is on the cover of The Hollywood Reporter as part of the annual Beauty Issue making it her third time this year (the other covers are here and here) appearing with her makeup artist Ashunta Sheriff. They talk about avoiding Cookie like makeup on the red carpet so don’t expect to see any purple lipsticks and Taraji’s favorite red carpet look (the last Emmys). That is one killer brow arch that Henson is giving and the different shades of blue outfits add to this striking image.
