Summer TCA is here and this means whole host of panel attire – think smart/casual or what you might wear for a nice lunch date – and animated sitting down shots. Plus a red carpet outfit that has me all excited for an event I am going to at the weekend.
Day 1 was all Netflix including some of the Orange is the New Black ladies and it is Uzo Aduba’s colorful L.K. Bennett print frock which is the panel standout. Taylor Schilling’s brown pants and tri-color blue top is actually a 3.1 Phillip Lim jumpsuit (sitting down makes it hard to tell) and it is relaxed cool. Nicholas Kirkwood T-bar pumps add a touch of glam to her look.
I miss you Nicky! Natasha Lyonne and Selenis Leyva are all about the LBD and fantastic shoes.
And here is a wide shot of the cast in attendance showing the range of style choices and my other favorite pairing with Lea DeLaria and Taryn Manning sitting on the far right.
The costuming on The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is a color wheel explosion and Titus Burgess is bringing it in a pink shirt and bow tie. He is indeed flawless. Teal is a great choice for Ellie Kemper and Tina Fey’s pants and sleeveless blouse are perfect TCA threads. Would also look really great at the office.
Season 1 of The Leftovers is messy in places, but the stuff that is really great is really great and this is why I am so excited for October 4 when the show returns. At the TCA panel returning cast members Justin Theroux and the devastatingly good Carrie Coon were joined by new regular Regina King (I am still sad about Southland’s cancellation) and both ladies look delightful in such bold colors. Theroux scrubs up rather nicely too in a stripe short sleeve Henley.
And a closer look at the texture of Carrie Coon’s dress. Now this is the kind of sheer elements I like and one occasion where nude sandals are the best choice.
Complicated feelings about jumpsuits aside as this navy wrap Diane von Furstenberg ensemble worn by Rebecca Ferguson at the Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation London premiere is spectacular. As is her performance in the film which I saw yesterday; it is so good to see a woman kicking this much ass and not being the damsel in distress. She gave me all the Sydney Bristow feels. Such a good twist on menswear tailoring (and you know how much I love a lady suit).
Now here comes the personal bit and DVF garments have often graced these pages with the wrap dress being an item I have desired for a long time. I am attending my soon to be brother-in-law’s wedding tomorrow and for the occasion I will be wearing Diane von Furstenberg. There will be a much longer piece to follow because this is probably the most TV Ate My Wardrobe story there is; as you can gather I am very excited about this.
