Good morning! This would normally be the place where I would run down all the best looks from the week, but as I am getting married tomorrow (TOMORROW) I am forgoing this weekly column because there’s a whole lot of everything going on (as you can imagine). I will also be going on honeymoon so for the next two weeks it is going to be a little quiet around these parts.
From this week there are plenty of red carpet rundowns from the Emmy pre-parties to the main event. Tatiana Maslany definitely dominated the style stakes this weekend. With Yara Shahidi closely following.Varietyand Vanity Fair/BAFTA events. And Emmy red carpet rundowns part 1 and part 2. Plus Instagram behind the scenes delights.
TV Ate My Wardrobe also now has a newsletter! You can subscribe here. And you can also read my TV and Style column over at The Observer. So I will see you all in a couple of weeks!
The big Emmy weekend is coming, but before that we have a bumper “Out of the Box” with more from NYFW, TIFF and some great magazine covers.
For all the best looks from the Creative Arts Emmys held over two night’s last weekend head here. There will be no Mad Men at the Emmys this year, but thankfully the cast has been doing the rounds at NYFW. First we had Jon Hamm rocking the shit out of a Tom Ford suit and now Christina Hendricks is giving off stunning vibes at the Naeem Khan show. There’s something a little nightwear about this and yet it is working. Great lip color too.
Oh and for more Jon Hamm (this time with a bad haircut) check out our brand new Gilmore Girls chat.At Michael Kors, Emily Blunt also gives great lipstick and ticks all the polka dot and large button boxes. The sleeves are a flare too far for me and I’d like to see the blazer without them, but that is a slight nitpick and I am thrilled we will be seeing a lot more of Blunt in the lead up to The Girl on a Train.More patterned treats on offer at Michael Kors with some A+ pattern clashing from Cynthia Erivo and this time the sleeves are not a cumbersome detail. Between this and BrainDeadI want to wear all the super cute bow/tie detail office attire. At the Gemfields in Conversation cocktail party Keri Russell is maybe a magical fashion unicorn in that she looks great in off the shoulder puffy sleeves. This event took place at the hotel where I am staying on honeymoon, which also adds to my excitement levels. Russell is definitely on my Emmy red carpet most anticipated list. Moving on to TIFF and at the Queen of Katwe premiere Lupita Nyong’o and David Oyelowo look stunning in ensembles that strongly nod to the subject of their movie. The bold color of Lupita’s Carolina Herrera gown and head wrap are striking and you can see the intricate detail of the floral aspect of the dress here.
There are a few men we regularly feature when it comes to great red carpet style and Oyelowo is one of them as he has shown on a number of occasions that a black tuxis not the only option; here he goes one step further and looks great doing so.The pair is also giving great airport style this week.Ladysuit treats this week and at the TIFF InStyle/HFPA party Evan Rachel Wood gives great tailoring and peek-a-boo color with green pumps. Tulip from Preacher is one of this year’s TV style icons for her bold mix of edgy with feminine and Ruth Negga has also been showing how it is done on the red carpet. At the same InStyle event, Negga goes for a soft and romantic sartorial choice with an injection of shoe color always does the trick. At a screening of Transparent in Washington D.C. – season 3 lands on Amazon Prime Friday, September 23 – there’s a whole lot of looks to love with pleated leather skirts (currently on my clothing wish list), stripes and flowers. Look for more of this cast at the Emmys this weekend. At a mid-week Emmy kickoff event Constance Zimmer also does the off the shoulder thing and maybe this is a trend I actually really love. One repeat look I am definitely here for is color pumps and Zimmer nails this one too.W Magazine cover star Julia Louis-Dreyfus will also be hitting the red carpet at the weekend and she normally makes our best dressed list; this close up beauty shot is mesmerizing.October continues to deliveron the much better than the September issue covers and Lupita Nyong’o for Vogue is another to add to this list. Shot by Mario Testino in her family’s Kenyan village celebrating Nyong’o’s heritage and this cover and accompanying editorial is stunning. And this might be an “Out of the Box” record with three different looks this week for Lupita.
You can tell it is September because everything* is going on right now; film festivals, NYFW, fall TV and October magazine covers continuing to outdo the so-called major issues that come the month before. Plus the first round of Emmys are this weekend.
*There is a lot to discuss and my busy levels are going through the roof right now as I have hit the “Whoa it is two weeks until my wedding” mark and therefore I might not be covering NYFW in as much detail as I normally do. At the Venice Film Festival premiere for Hacksaw Ridge, Sophie Turner continues to show she looks just as good blonde as she does Sansa red and stuns in a statuesque Yanina Couture gown. Now I really want to see her playing Elizabeth Debicki’s younger sister in something. Also from Venice is Amy Adams in super sparkly Tom Ford at the premiere for the Tom Ford directed Nocturnal Animals. Excitement levels for this movie are high because I love A Single Man, the Adams/Jake Gyllenhaal factor and this is going to give great red carpet.
The shot of a star in motion with a wall of photographers is one of my favorite things about festival shots. Plus Venice gets the bonus of actors looking cool as fuck on boats.Switching from a Tom Ford movie event to a Tom Ford fashion event and the arrivals at his NYFW show. Keeping with the metallic theme is Karlie Kloss delivering full model pose and looking glamorous in this glitzy gown.Keeping with Tom Ford and Jon Hamm is the voice on the phone in A Single Man – he worked for free and got a suit for his efforts, which is a good form of payment –and he continues to show his support in this excellent number. This Emmys is going to be Hamm-less so I’m thrilled to see him in a suit at NYFW.Patterned shirts are having a resurgence – hat tip to Rami Malek for how much he loves it – and Zachary Quinto is working this trend at Tom Ford.
This is an actual look of the week and I don’t know why Gillian Anderson is giving so much side-eye, but I am thrilled she is giving Stella face at this screening of The Fall’s season 3 premiere. And while his hand is covering most of it, Jamie Dornan’s got great beard levels at the moment. This cover says it all; “Grace & Power” is exactly what I think when I look at this issue of Essence.
And this photo is every heart eye emoji I could ever use.
One of the busiest months of the year in terms of TV and fashion is here so this week’s “Out of the Box” is a fun mix of film festival attire, talk shows and magazine editorials. While I’m on the subject of September and how busy it is you can now also sign up to my weekly newsletter here. The first one is all about this time of year and is an extension of everything TV Ate My Wardrobe.Emma Stone at the Venice Film Festival wearing a delightful floral Giambattista Valli, which is an ideal daytime photocall outfit for La La Land. Paired with suede ochre heels gives this a late 70s feel that I am – in non-shocking news – in love with. I am very excited about this movie and the costume design is already giving me all the heart eyes.Giving off casual cool at Jimmy Kimmel Live! is Zooey Deschanel and I’ve been after a good pair of denim dungarees. To me they are jumpsuit adjacent in that I don’t own a pair and they give me the same clothing related bathroom fears.
On the show Deschanel also looked great in a black ensemble paired with some super sparkly amazing flats and a collar that ticks all the boxes. Plus she talked about how much her daughter loves cheese, her TV directorial debut and the New Girl crossover with Brooklyn Nine-Nine.Interview Magazine continues to deliver on great photoshoots and interviews – well I guess it is the title of the magazine – and this week HTGAWM’s Aja Naomi King chats with OITNB’s Danielle Brooks about their classic training, TV and King’s role in The Birth of a Nation. Also working with Viola Davis sounds as incredible as you probably imagined it would be.
“She brings you in, and it feels like family. When you’re in that kind of family environment, when you’re tasked with doing something difficult, you can allow yourself to be brave because you know you’re surrounded by people that love you, that only want the best for you. From day one, it’s been that wonderful. I was terrified. That first scene we’re in together in the pilot, I was so scared. Here she is, being amazing in this room, and I just want her to think I’m amazing too.”Also in Interview is Aya Cash and I am thrilled You’re the Worst is back for a third season. The premiere episode is really great, made me teary and sparked an important shower related debate. As with the Aja Naomi King picture Aya Cashnails the disarming black and white shot in stunning fashion.
In the interview Cash discusses how Stephen Falk had to fight for her to get the part of Gretchen, audition rejections, the doors You’re the Worst has opened and what she’d be doing if she wasn’t acting. This also has me very excited:
“I’m starting to produce. I’m developing a project for myself based on one of my mom’s books. I really don’t have a specific idea of where I want my career to go, I just have an idea of wanting to continue to work and work on things that I like and think are good. I don’t need to be crazy rich and crazy famous. I would just like to keep going.”This all-Prada ensemble shot is also fantastic and I couldn’t pick between the two. For more from this Interview shoot head here.Chunky knit season is upon us and upstate New York is the place for these late summer shoots as The Edit shows with this fantastic Rachel Weisz spread. This turtleneck sweater is perhaps a tad outside my budget and it is still too warm for such garments, but I can dream.Stranger Things is one of the undeniable hits of the summer and part of the reason for its success and resonance is the kids at the center of the story. Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughlin and Gaten Matarazzo all appeared on The Tonight Show this week timed perfectly for the season 2 pickup announcement. Style wise it has been a lot of Winona (for good reason) on here, but the kids dominated this piece I wrote.
And in real life they are pretty adorable and charming. Outfit wise they are all perfect and Millie Bobby Brown’s dress and flats are super cute. Points for all. Plus she crushes Nicki Minaj’s “Monster” verse.
A really fun mix this week from “Out of the Box” with a makeup campaign, magazine covers and red carpet events delivering the sartorial goods. And we are about to enter the very busy September period – both professionally and personally for me as I’m also getting married next month – and I cannot wait. This week MAC announced a forthcoming collaboration with Taraji P. Henson and sign me up already. The first image of Henson for MAC is super sexy and is giving me flashbacks to her W editorial, which also happened to be my favorite magazine cover from 2015 (and yes it is still on my coffee table).Mary Elizabeth Winstead is currently top of the character style crush list on BrainDeadand now the IRL one after this appearance at the premiere for The Hollars in a divine Victoria Beckham frock. As if I need another reason to be lipstick obsessed. Just looking at Sarah Paulson’s Marc Jacobs ensemble in this heat is enough to make me sweat, but despite the August temps Paulson is totally crushing this outfit while on the pre-Emmy trail at this Television Academy event. I am still head over heels in love with her haircut. Continuing his patterned shirt domination is Rami Malek also at the same Television Academy event and the top button done up look continues to work like a charm. Switching things up in a double breasted jacket and Malek is definitely high on the Emmy red carpet most anticipated list. This was also the week he took his first Instagram photo. Big things are happening.I wasn’t entirely bowled over by most September issue efforts this year and it has been left to some of the weekly/bi-monthly magazines to pick up the slack including this fantastic shot of Michelle Obama wearing Jonathan Simkhai on the cover of Variety.
In the piece Obama talks about the range of shows she has guest starred on (Billy on the Street, Carpool Karaoke on the Late, Late Show, iCarly) to the shows she loves right now (The Americans, OITNB) and what she watched when she was growing up (The Mary Tyler Moore Show).
The whole piece is really great in how it explores the decisions Obama has made about which shows to appear on:
“While I am first lady, I wasn’t first lady my whole life. I’m a product of pop culture. I’m a consumer of pop culture, and I know what resonates with people. I know what they’ll get a chuckle out of and what they think is kind of silly. And whenever my team approaches me with ideas and concepts, we’re usually like, ‘Is this really funny? Are people going to understand it?'”
And and there is also an A+ thread about why pop culture is so important “So it becomes very important for the world to see different images of each other, so that, again, we can develop empathy and understanding.” To read the whole thing head here.Somehow it is time for October editions of magazines and we have a contender for magazine cover of the year with Gina Rodriguez giving so much engaging fierce face for Latina. This haircut really is spectacular and I love how confrontational and disarming this look to camera is.
In the piece Rodriguez discusses the Alex Garland project she was shooting over the summer and Annihilation is very high on the movies I can’t wait for list (and not just for Oscar Isaac reasons – the whole cast is fantastic). Luckily Jane the Virgin doesn’t have Rodriguez tied to a Kit Harington no haircut contract clause and while commenting about her Annihilation hair chop she remarks “I am not my beauty. Who I am is not my fucking hair, and to be an actor is to transform.”The whole shoot is spectacular and this is just one of many incredible shots of Rodriguez doing her fashion thing. For more head here.
After last week’sTCA heavy style antics we’ve got a mostly magazine and editorial “Out of the Box” with a dash of the red carpet at the end of the post.
Another fantastic Winona Ryder cover to join last week’sNew York stunner and the September issue of Nylonused to be the much anticipated (by me) TV issue. The focus has moved away from an all-TV issue, but as the cover suggests the best new shows element is still present.
This shot of Ryder is fun and mischievous showing that black and white photography doesn’t have to be all moody poses and cigarette smoke. So happy it is fall fashion season and that chunky knits are on the horizon (the shorts and tank situation I have going on is getting old). Yes this Chanel version is on the sheer side so I am predisposed to at least wrinkle my nose, but this Kristen Stewart cover for Tis such a commanding image and the rest of the editorial continues in this vein. Plus there is a whole 90s vibe which ticks all the nostalgia boxes.
It is also one of the most relaxed and open interviews I have read with Stewart and she gives off a happy and content vibe while discussing her relationships “I still want to protect my personal life, but I don’t want to seem like I’m protecting the idea, so that does sort of feel like I owe something to people.” A certain ex also gets a mention by name. More sweater delights with Julia Stiles in Max Mara for Interviewand I find it hard to resist a starry number. While not on the same level as Winona Ryder, my fondness for Julia Stiles goes back to teendom and the movies I watched on repeat; 10 Things I Hate About You still being one in regular rotation.
On this movie and its fans Stiles comments in Interview “I think it’s really special to be a part of something that people are still watching or thinking about or interested in, or remember fondly many years later. I don’t think it’s annoying at all.”Lucy Liu is the new brand ambassador for Bruno Magli and she is also the face of the new super glamorous fall campaign where she crushes the beehive look and now I want Joan Watson to investigate shenanigans at an auction. Liu has also designed a shoe for the brand that is aptly called “The Lucy.” At Variety’s Power of Young Hollywood event Sophie Turner shows off her new blonde locks and fake tats (sadly the wolfie one is under her sleeve) for her new project Huntsville. While I am lukewarm on her pumps, I am all in on the green mini.
The 2016 summer TCA press tour continued this week (and finished yesterday), which means another round of fabulous panel and party attire. This week has already given an instant entry into magazine cover of the year and the TCA awards delivered on the Mr Robotcast style dominance (and for my take on some of the costuming this season head here and here).
It isn’t all TCA on “Out of the Box” this week as Emmy campaigning continues and one of TV Ate My Wardrobe’s favorite podcasts gets profiled in The New York Times. At the Fox All-Star party Taraji P. Henson in Emanuel Ungaro is pretty much wearing my platonic ideal of a floral dress; ideal because it is perfect for a casual summer event AND because you could throw on some ankle boots with knit tights for when it starts to get colder.
The dash of pink nail polish with black Alex Wagner sandals is an excellent finishing touch. So this shot of Yara Shahidi is from last week’s ABC day/Black-ish panel, which I somehow missed until I saw Shahidi’s Instagram. From H to T (thanks Tyra) this is a fantastic look throwing in some whimsy with leopard print shoes and ticking all my collar/bow boxes. Shahidi continues to impress not just on a teen style scale, but in general.Mindy Kaling goes classic in a black Dolce & Gabbana at the Hulu Mindy Project panel, but kicks the whole look with some fun peep toe pumps and a second case of fabulous pink nail polish this week. This Roland Mouret frock is a lot of dress to pull off and Lizzy Caplan is just the person to do that at the CBS, CW and Showtime TCA party; crushing it on non-boring shoe and lip color choices too. At a quick glance and if you switched out the bottle of water for a cocktail then this looks more like a vacation snap; Mandy Patinkin has gone full casual and Claire Danes is still giving off a tanned glow in a stunning green and orange textured frock with a floral trim. Instead it is the Homeland panel and here’s what they revealed about the forthcoming sixth season. The You’re the Worst cast continue to delight in the run up to season 3 and Aya Cash was kind enough to tell me on Twitter what lip color/brand she is wearing. I am also very much into Cash’s Rachel Comey ensemble and Kether Donohue looks lovely in blush pink. Plus, Desmin Borges and Chris Geere do the casual/smart panel balance well. And one from the You’re the Worst panel because just look at these beauties.Speaking of which and as Emmy campaigning season continues the “it is about time” Emmy nominees, Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys have given another joint interview (this time for Deadline) and as with the THR one it is a delight of finishing each other’s sentences and talking about The Americans. This one goes more in-depth into last season and they also discuss how Russell’s pregnancy ended up giving Rhys the biggest episode of the season to direct (which he crushed) and this also happens to be both their episode submission.
This Mark Mann photo also looks like a great way to sell chambray and seersucker shirts for all your upstate New York vacation needs. A birthday crown for Jessica Williams and a tiara for 2 Dope Queens co-host Phoebe Robinson at their show, which also happened to be Williams’ birthday and featured a surprise guest (who also happens to be a former boss). This New York Times profile covers that night and discusses this podcast and ladies fave of mine; here’s to them recording an episode when I am in New York next month. *insert prayer hands emoji*
After last week’s power dressing convention heavy “Look of the Week” we’re back on schedule with the TCA press tour dishing up the usual amount of cool/casual to slightly fancier looks. As this is the summer session it means there are plenty of floaty and floral numbers on display. Plus we’ve got a couple of other red carpet events including two TV spies infiltrating the White House.Rami Malek and Christian Slater are great and all, but it was a really smart idea to focus this year’s Mr Robot panel on the women of this show shining a spotlight on newbie Grace Gummer, Carly Chaikin, Portia Doubleday and Stephanie Corneliussen as they are currently the most interesting aspect of season 2.
At TCA there are often just sitting down shots so you don’t always get a good look at the whole outfit (but you do get to see the shoes) and as with talk shows it is better to pick something that looks good seated. Pretty much don’t go too short. All four women look great and I particularly like that they are all smiling/laughing as this is something we rarely get to see on Mr Robot. Now for the stand up shot which highlights the mix of outfits including collared/blazer highs – even with the sheer aspect Stephanie Corneliussen has my fave look of the quartet – and textured frocks. Basically I am so ready for a lot more of these ladies on Mr Robot and this panel and this week’s episode is very encouraging.I’m really looking forward to Insecure(premieres Sunday, October 9) and star/creator Issa Rae looked fabulous at the HBO panel in a black dress with a colorful patterned trim. Plus Rae is giving me new glasses frames to covet. Women are leading the way with fall comedies at HBO and Sharon Horgan was there to discuss Divorce (also on my highly anticipated list) while giving me so many Sharon from Catastrophe vibes with her attire. Yeah things get a little confusing name wise as Sharon Horgan plays Sharon on the excellent Catastrophe and typically I want everything in her wardrobe, as I do in life it would seem.In a patterned Etro frock delight is Divorce leading lady Sarah Jessica Parker and this ideal Summer TCA wear is perfect for a post panel cocktail. Sometimes sitting down shots obscure what makes a great looking outfit take a turn for the worst or as Samantha Powell puts it the “sheer skirt surprise.” Case in point; Michelle Dockery at the Good Behavior panel in a lovely floral Self Portrait dress, which looks great sitting down. At the TCA Turner summer party Michelle Dockery switched her outfit out and the collar detail is enough to make me ignore some of the other aspects I am less keen on. Ana Gasteyer is every level of casual great with a pair of fantastic stacked shoes/red toenails. Also at the TCA Turner summer party, Alia Shawkat is pretty much rocking my whole party aesthetic; drink in one hand and plate of food in the other. Love her very cute striped knotted shirt for extra casual vibes. Two weeks in a row for America Ferrera on “Out of the Box” and this is a much more casual setting as she promotes Superstore with co-star Ben Feldman. Both have got the casual/smart ratio down and I am especially into Ferrera’s geometric detailed pumps and pink blazer. Now for the fancy end of the scale as stars of The Americans Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys attended a state dinner at the White House; doing so in style and insert your Russian spy jokes here.
Russell wore an elegant draped Stephane Rolland black dress with a gold panel and it is her accessories that have caught my eye including the gold hand cuff. Going classic in a black tux and a strong hiatus beard is Matthew Rhys and for more BTS getting ready (beyond Instagram) check out People’s makeup rundown with TV Ate My Wardrobe fave Tina Turnbow.
Here is Keri Russell on The Tonight Show talking about that dinner and a white dress disaster near miss.
And for a slice of adorable and utterly charming check out their joint interview over at The Hollywood Reporter, which is pretty much, my new favorite thing. They talk their terrible ideas for how The Americans should end, why it is so great to have a character like Elizabeth Jennings, how The Wine Show came into fruition, Matthew Rhys guest starring in the final season of Girls, sex scenes on The Americans and Felicity’s hair. It is really good. More black dress and strong eye makeup this week and Zosia Mamet is crushing it at the 2016 ACE Awards. And at an event celebrating accessories she has picked well on the jewelry front.Black dresses for all in our non-TCA portion of “Out of the Box” and Gina Rodriguez goes super sexy in an off the shoulder BCBGMAXAZRIA at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s Grants Banquet in Beverly Hills last night. Love the silver pumps too.
After Comic-Con it has been a pretty quiet on the red carpet front so it is a convention of a political kind that dominates “Out of the Box” this week and we’ll be taking a look at the celebrities who spoke at the DNC in Philadelphia. Angela Bassett working it on Day 3 wearing a sophisticated blue Karen Millen that wouldn’t look out of place on The Good Wife or Scandal;setting the right glam to serious tone. This is how you coordinate without looking matchy matchy and Lena Dunham’s Gabriela Hearst off the shoulder white frock is a style best and America Ferrara in a black and white Black Halo gown adds an extra punch with colorful pumps. When asked to stretch things out before introducing Paul Simon (and after giving a great speech) Sarah Silverman worked the camera giving the actual Look of the Week while Al Franken went peak dad on the joke front while they waited for Simon. Silverman also kept things classic and serious with her choice of ensemble. From the Day 2 walk through and I love everything about this shot of Elizabeth Banks and her fabulous paisley number. And for the actual thing Elizabeth Banks took a slightly more fun dress approach than some of the other celebrity speakers in a very cute Elie Saab, which works with the celeb filled and Pitch Perfect inspired “Fight Song” video that Banks helped conceive and introduced at the DNC. Switching out from the DNC to magazine covers and September issues are coming! UK Elle is taking this opportunity to give themselves a makeover with a re-design and September is the perfect time for this as it always strikes me as the month for new beginnings. All four covers go in close and look great, but it is Amandla Stenberg’s that really stood out and I’m really looking forward to getting my hands on a copy.
Comic-Con is here! As I’m writing this there are still many panels to go and this is the tip of the Comic-Con style iceberg, which is a whole lot like PaleyFest and TCA in that it varies from super casual cool to the dressier end of the scale.
Today we have both in the menswear department from the open air IMAX world premiere of Star Trek Beyond kicking things off in San Diego this week. There is also a dash of politics and more movie screenings.I really miss Selfie and reading Jon Cho’s comments in this amazing and insightful interview with Vultureabout this show only adds to this sense of sadness about its early cancellation:
“Selfie was a chance for me to be centered, confident. There was some kind of stillness to the character that I felt was much more me than any other person I played.”
Henry was also a suits kinda guy and Cho looks great at the Star Trek Beyond premiere in this blue number.Normally I might shake my head at how casual this look is for a premiere of a movie that someone is in, but Idris Elba has the best reason for shorts and sneakers as his suit was lost at the airport. Plus he still manages to crush it and look cool as fuck despite this wardrobe mishap. This week I cleaned out my closet and it was no surprise that stripes were the dominant staple; at the Star Trek Beyond premiere Christian Slater shows that dudes can do this style just as well and my only slight negative note is going sockless with loafers. The iZombie cast are taking a quick break from starting shooting season 3 and have headed to San Diego for Comic-Con and they presented at the MTV Fandom Awards last night (July 21). The split up the front of the dress is having a big revivalthis year and while I’m still not completely sold on this trend, I do really like the color, texture and floral print of Rose McIver’s frock and it is ideal for this event.
Looking forward to seeing more from the iZombie cast in San Diego and check back for more Comic-Con style coverage over the next few days.Co-stars supporting co-stars in other projects is my fave and Danielle Brooks is on hand at the screening of Uzo Aduba’s new movie Tallulah (which played at Sundance and I am looking forward to seeing). Brooks looks fabulous in another floral dream this week; wearing a Fuzzi frock and ASOS silver pumps and Aduba goes classic in a black dress and strappy shoes. A slightly different spin on the co-stars supporting each other format and Jon Stewart made a much welcome and needed return to late night with a couple of appearances this week on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Stephen Colbert shared this photo from last night’s show on his Twitter and this brings me so much joy in this bonkers political week/month/year.
Jon’s still working his fantastic post Daily Show beard and clip on ties are dangerous to chest hair and not a great sartorial choice, but everything about the above shot is wonderful. Plus Stephen scrubs up well even when he is poking out the side of his desk.
To watch Jon Stewart’s segment click on the video below and bask in his anger and blanked out swears.
