Behind the Insta-Scenes: Photos from the Set

6 Jul

The holiday weekend means plenty of patriotic style and a whole lot of sunshine. Plus the Orange is the New Black cast head to Canada, some exits and anticipated returning shows from the Instagram TV highlights.

Jessica Williams has left The Daily Show and I am so excited for what she will do next. Williams’ podcast 2 Dope Queens with Phoebe Robinson got me through an emotionally tough train ride home at the end of last week; making me laugh when all I wanted to do was cry so I am extra grateful for that. Plus this photo from the Jon Stewart era is amazing.

Makeup artist Tina Turnbow captured Keri Russell getting ready for her Today Show appearance where she wore a very cool floral pussy bow blouse and talked her new movie, The Americans and Spy Baby.

Last week the OITNB cast celebrated New York Pride and now they have ventured up to Toronto for the Pride parade that took place on Sunday (July 3). Samira Wiley has another really fantastic custom Milly top that I am coveting hard.

More OITNB Toronto Pride partying.

Keeping on the OITNB track here is a season 4 behind the scenes shot and this one is giving me all the feelings.

By now you have probably seen many photos from the annual Taylor Swift Fourth of July Squad weekend and I’m going to keep on the OITNB theme with this one of Uzo Aduba. Yes that water slide does look amazing. Yes I love this Vulture post on the whole thing which harks back to their amazing Gossip Girl recaps.

For all your July 4th patriotic clothing needs look no further than the amazing Dick from 1999 starring Kirsten Dunst and Michelle Williams. This was my dream teen lady pairing and I heart this movie hard.

Jaws is the ultimate Forth of July movie (sorry Independence Day) and Aya Cash’s photo of this very on point tat is very cool.

More UnREAL off camera joy and Jeffery Bowyer-Chapman and Denée Chapman are enjoying a very crowded looking Brooklyn park while celebrating the holiday weekend.

More from the UnREAL cast and I love how much Constance Zimmer loves this bag of popcorn.

If you miss The Office well then Angela Kinsey has a treat for you as she has posted a bunch of old photos from the set including that time in season 1 when Amy Adams guest starred.

Very cute iZombie co-star hangouts with some bonus dog pals.

I am very excited about this and in non shocking news Aubrey Plaza is wearing a dress which is giving me full heart eyes.

Mr Robot returns a week today (!) and I hope we get to see a lot more of all three ladies in season 2. Please and thank you.

Hollywood Reporter Drama Actress 2016 Roundtable: Watch the Full Video

28 Jun

Last night the first process of Emmy voting closed with the initial round of nominations. Those will not be announced until Thursday, July 14 and in the meantime the full versions of the Hollywood Reporter Emmy roundtable discussions will air every Sunday on SundanceTV before being made available on YouTube.

The first one up is the drama actresses and we showcased this chat a few weeks ago when this amazing group of women covered The Hollywood Reporter.

Now watch the whole conversation below.

Variety Actors on Actors or Pick Your Dream Dinner Date (Part 2)

9 Jun

The Hollywood Reporter has their award season roundtables gathering a group of actors/writers/showrunners who are at the top of their game and over at Variety they do things one-on-one getting the actors to interview other actors. Last year I referred to this setup as picking your dream dinner dates and that still stands with the line-up this year.

So far only a handful of the full videos are available on YouTube (you can find them all on Variety) and they are ideal viewing if you are suffering from show withdrawal or if like me you just love this time of year when TV awards chat is in full focus. Courtney B. Vance and Tracee Ellis RossFirst up we have Courtney B. Vance and Tracee Ellis Ross in this almost 40-minute extravaganza discussing everything from college, to the OJ Simpson trial and discussions of race on Black-ish.

And in people I didn’t know went to high school together; Rami Malek and Kirsten Dunst. Also love that Kirsten Dunst would listen to Dolly Parton’s “Here I Am” before scenes in which Peggy was particularly feeling herself.

Talking about producing material and creating their own work with Master of None and Confirmation. Plus audition chat and now I’m left wondering which two shows Kerry Washington got fired off for the horrific reason of not sounding ‘urban’ enough. Is one of them Wonderfalls? On a fashion note I have already mentioned how much I love Kerry Washington’s dress and I will be doing so again.

Jay Duplass tells a very funny story about having more sexual partners on screen in one season of Transparent than he has in his whole life and Emilia Clarke reveals why she ended up dancing in her Game of Thrones audition (always blame Diet Coke).

And finally from two Ryan Murphy projects we have Jamie Lee Curtis and Lady Gaga with Lady Gaga explaining how she got on board the American Horror Story train (she called him) and where Gaga ends and Stephanie begins. Turns out that Robert Durst is the surprising influence for Gaga’s performance on AHS.

It is not just one on one interviews Variety are gifting us this award season and you can watch a supporting actor roundtable featuring Regina King, Jonathan Banks, Miranda Otto, Anthony Mackie, Christian Slater and Maggie Siff here.

Updated to add this super delightful chat between Sam Heughan and Krysten Ritter. Heughan talks about the Outlander costumes and how helpful they are, which leads to Krysten Ritter breaking down Jessica’s unchanging wardrobe. They win my heart in an instant.

Check back for more Emmy chat here soon.

Best of the 2016 CFDA Fashion Awards Red Carpet

7 Jun

One of the fashion industry’s biggest nights of the year took place at Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City last night (Monday, 6 June) honoring designers at the CFDA Awards. The annual event celebrates the best in fashion design and there are a whole host of stars on hand to showcase their work.

Here are our favorite looks from the night and trends from the evening include all that sparkles, black and botanical prints.

For a full list of the winner head here.BeyonceBeyoncé was awarded with the Style Icon Award crushing it in super sparkly Givenchy ladysuit (cue switching out lyrics to “Formation”) and wide-brimmed hat.

Aside from a recent Elle interview Beyoncé has let her music and Instagram do the speaking for her and this speech revealed a whole lot about her family’s influence on the clothes she wears and she had this special message to the designers in the room “I want to say thank you to every designer who works tirelessly to make people think they can write their own story.”

She also gave a detailed shout out to her family and threw in a Game of Thrones reference much to my delight.

“My mother and my uncle, God rest his soul, made all of our first costumes, individually sewing hundreds of crystals and pearls, putting so much passion and love into every small detail. When I wore these clothes I felt like Khaleesi. I had an extra suit of armor. It was so much deeper than any brand name.”Abbi and IlanaI love everything about this photo of Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson presenting the Accessory Designer of the Year Award (which went to Paul Andrew) and they both look fabulous in black Rebecca Minkoff creations.Jessica ChastainJessica Chastain combining three of the trends of the evening (black, metallic, foliage) in a stunning leafy Prabal Gurung frock. Only minor quibbles; maybe needs a necklace and/or red lipstick.Gillian JacobsThrowing some bold color into the mix with Gillian Jacobs in Tanya Taylor.Samira WileySamira Wiley is a big Milly fan and so it makes sense that she wears this designer to the CFDA Awards; what a fantastic frock this is. The feathered detail really makes this dress standout. Plus, pockets!Hari NefWe’re entering the 70s influenced portion and Hari Nef works a hard to pull of ethereal Gucci number.Zosia MametThere’s something a little tarot card reader or fabulous 70s shindig about Zosia Mamet’s Maiyet look thanks to the red embellished scarf. Claire Danes and Hugh DancyGiving off relaxed couple vibes are Claire Danes and Hugh Dancy both sporting a healthy post-Memorial Day weekend glow and Danes’ Calvin Klein Collection pleated dress is understated. Well, aside from the part that looks like a button that is screaming to be pushed. Kirsten DunstGoing back to the sparkly theme with Kirsten Dunst in Rodarte and while I wish the skirt was not so sheer, the top half of this dress and those fantastic shoes are enough to get passed this nitpick. Taking the floral trend to the next level by wearing real orchids as earrings.TildaIn a surprisingly low-key look Tilda Swinton is still the ultimate cool as fuck red carpet star in Haider Ackermann sporting the black/silver trend with a flash of orange. Excellent lip color choice. UPDATE! Thanks to the Fug Girls (via Julie Klauser) it transpires that I already own the specific lip color Tilda is wearing; it’s Candy Yum Yum by MAC and it’s great.Alexander SkarsgardDoing it for the dudes in metallics is Alexander Skarsgård in a really great Tom Ford tux.Sebastian StanOh, hello. Sebastian Stan is giving off so much charm in Todd Snyder that I don’t even care he has gone sans socks.

Out of the Box: Look of the Week

20 May

A fun mix of casual and glam this week with Upfronts fashion (for more from the Fox and NBC panels head here) delivering some “Out of the Box” sartorial highs. Plus Cannes gives us red carpet decadence and a dash of chic French Rivera daytime photocall outfits. Oh and there is an extra special treat at the end.Hayley AtwellIt wasn’t a surprise considering the ratings and the fact that Hayley Atwell had already been cast on another ABC show (Conviction – watch the promo here), but the Agent Carter cancellation still hurts and I’m sad we’re not going to be getting any more Peggy adventures (for now).

I will be watching Conviction based on its star (and Francie from Alias is in it!) and Atwell is giving me even more positive feelings towards jumpsuits in this strapless number.Constance WuConstance Wu’s got the ideal blend of casual and cool in this dress which is giving me early 80s sports vibes (maybe because I wrote this dedication to athleisure wear this week) at the ABC Upfront event. Love the bold pink lip color with the mint green of the frock.Martha PlimptonMore lipstick treats from Martha Plimpton in an outfit which is ticking all the pocket and excellent office vibes boxes.Krysten RitterKrysten Ritter making another “Out of the Box” appearance switching out stunning crimson for studded and sparkly Zuhair Murad at the Webby Awards. Ritter is another red lip color queen. Kirsten DunstKirsten Dunst continues to crush it on all levels at Cannes and this aerial shot of her walking the Loving red carpet in a delicate (and okay maybe slightly bridal, but who cares) Dior Couture gown is pretty stunning. Dior it turns out is a much better brand for Dunst than JLaw if this festival is anything to go by. Also check out Dunst on the cover of the new Hollywood Reporter Emmy roundtable issue.Ruth NeggaA very busy time for Ruth Negga with Preacher about to premiere on AMC and a performance in Loving which has been getting rave reviews at Cannes. A gold long sleeve pleated Suno frock is maybe a little too fall for Cannes, but I think she looks fantastic. Excellent choice of footwear with bronze sandals that gives this ensemble a more summery feel.Personal ShopperKristen Stewart looks like she has been having a blast at Cannes this year and she’s been wearing a whole lot of Chanel (not a surprise) over the course of the festival. This daytime look at the Personal Shopper photocall is my favorite (you can read about/see the rest here) and this is ultimate Chanel cool. The sunglasses and her general vibe also helps. Co-stars Sigrid Bouaziz and Nora von Waldstatten are also slaying their daytime style and I particularly love Bouaziz’s ultra-mini patterned frock.Oscar IsaacEnding this week on an excellent (and dreamy) Rolling Stone cover note with Oscar Isaac smoldering it up a storm. Yes the release of this cover derailed work yesterday afternoon. The interview is great and this might be my favorite anecdote for obvious reasons “In high school, he began writing an invitation to Claire Danes, then the teen star of My So-Called Life, to appear in one of his productions, but he reconsidered.”

The 2016 Emmy Roundtable Season is Here!

18 May

It is no secret how much I love all things awards from the pre-nomination chatter to the red carpet decadence. Film award season stretches for months dominating the start of the year and now it is time for TV to bask in the glory of all things accolades; who deserves them, who should be nominated but probably won’t and the standout moments from television from the past year. Taking into account what will qualify as recency bias means certain things might get forgotten (anything that aired between June 1, 2015 and May 31 2016) so Mad Men is out (the finale aired May 17), but something like Show Me a Hero is in (which means Oscar Isaac in a tux hopefully). And maybe this is the year Emmy voters started watching The Americans.

The Hollywood Reporter’s roundtable season is one way to mark the official start of the Emmy chat period although Gold Derby has also been on fire with their one on one chats (including this great one with Poor Martha herself, Alison Wright) in recent weeks. A few months ago Jennifer Lopez posted a pictured on Instagram (which she sadly took down) of what turned out to be the drama actress roundtable; pretty much from that point on I have been anticipating the arrival of this discussion because this lineup is on fire.

Diversity or rather a lack of dominated award season and the actress roundtable and subsequent cover was a clear example of how Hollywood is failing, With regards to TV this cover and other recent ones have done a much better job at showcasing a variety of women who are leading the way in both comedy and drama. This isn’t to say TV is always the beacon of light in this department as Kristen Warner pointed out when the 2014 cover was released and it was only last year that a black woman finally won for Best Actress in a Drama Series with Viola Davis crushing it on every level with her acceptance speech. Opportunity is key and TV is currently offering a lot more of this.

Now to this year’s cover and this is an amazing group of actresses covering cable and network shows (and surprisingly no streaming) with Regina King and Kerry Washington straddling both with American Crime/The Leftovers and Scandal/Confirmation.dramasummercoverYou can watch videos from this roundtable over at The Hollywood Reporter including Sarah Paulson talking about sexism in relation to her role on American Crime Story as well as in her career in general, Regina King discussing directing and acting and Kirsten Dunst mentions how hard TV is work load wise in comparison to film (and she also mentions her friend Lizzy Caplan, which I of course adore). Sex scenes, producing, before they found fame are also covered and I’m looking forward to watching the whole conversation.

In terms of styling the drama actress cover tends to go in the dark and moody direction (of last year), black and white (see 2013) or pastels (as with 2014). Bold and bright is for the comedy actresses. Here it is pastels again with some white thrown in for good measure and they all look great facially, but I don’t love that Julianna Margulies and Jennifer Lopez are blending into the background. I think Sarah Paulson’s pleats are fantastic and Regina King’s pink dress is probably my other standout. I think Cannes has set a super high bar for Kirsten Dunst and this is just fine, but just that.

Read the whole roundtable discussion here.

Keep an eye out for more roundtable related discussions/covers in the coming weeks. Plus more Emmys chat soon!

Out of the Box: Look of the Week

13 May

Cannes kicks off this week and jury member Kirsten Dunst is already slaying all over the place in both casual and evening wear. There is a whole yellow theme this week and we’ve got great BAFTA style. Plus some bonus runway joy.Kirsten DunstEverything about this Kirsten Dunst Cannes Jury photocall look is perfection right down to the wedges, but really the yellow Dior (yes Dior can pull a stunner out the hat still) dress and the red lipstick is what has me going full heart eyes emoji. It is also giving me flashes of The Two Faces of January; a movie I watched on a plane and I enjoyed for all things Dunst, Oscar Isaac and the A+ costume design.Kirsten Dunst CannesAnd for the evening Kiki goes for ethereal floral beauty in pink and red Gucci. As with Claire Danes, my love for Dunst goes way back to my teens with things like The Virgin Suicides and I am so excited to see what other delights she will have on offer over the festival.Mads MikkelsenMads Mikkelsen is also on the jury and he has every right to look this pleased with himself as he is a tuxedo wearing dreamboat. This helps fill in the very big hole left by Hannibal in terms of men’s style and Mads.Anna Kendrick CannesMore yellow thrills from Cannes with Anna Kendrick hitting up the Cafe Society premiere in a bold Stella McCartney gown.Cush JumboWe said goodbye to Cush Jumbo’s Lucca Quinn this week and I cannot wait to see what she does next. For now here is Jumbo at the BAFTA TV Awards in gold Michael Kors and she looks incredible.Maisie WilliamsMaisie Williams is pretty in sparkly metallic pink at the BAFTAs and this Antonio Berardi mini dress continues Williams’ funky red carpet hot streak.Danielle BrooksEnding this week’s yellow infused “Out of the Box” with Danielle Brooks walking the runway for Christian Siriano’s new Lane Bryant plus-size collection. The rooftop event showcased the collection, the city and the models in the most fabulous way.

If only all runway events were this fun.

Also this week saw the release of a new Orange is the New Black trailer ahead of its premiere next month and tension levels at Litchfield look set to increase.

https://youtu.be/c6O9rfoz0f8

This is what I was trying to watch on Wednesday when my internet went kaput so now is a very good time to give a shout out to my friend Tony for taking pity on me and letting me set up shop in his front room so I can do some work (and watch things like this). Fingers crossed by Monday all normal service will resume.

Out of the Box: Look of the Week

1 Apr

Spring is here and the red carpet is awash with florals and bold patterns at the premieres for The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Confirmation. Don’t ditch the coats just yet though as the weather has a habit of turning in an instant and there is also fabulous outerwear among the pretty dresses this week. Plus more magazine cover sensations, talk show entrance attire and the FX Upfronts.Ellie KemperKimmy Schmidt has one of television’s brightest wardrobes and star Ellie Kemper doesn’t disappoint in a very cute Tanya Taylor floral mini-dress, which works wonders against the pink backdrop and purple carpet.Tituss BurgessSpeaking of bold turns and Tituss Burgess lights up the purple carpet in a look that makes me want to crack open a bottle of Pinot by Tituss to celebrate. Kimmy Schmidt returns in 2 weeks (April 15) for season 2. Now to see if I can finish Daredevil before then.Kerry WashingtonAnother floral sensation with Kerry Washington in romantic Dolce & Gabbana at the Confirmation premiere (airing Saturday, April 16). My only quibble is it could do with being slightly shorter as it is a tad overwhelming, but on the whole this is a style which we have seen Washington nail on multiple occasions; embracing print sets her apart from the character we see on a weekly basis.Regina KingHypnotic black and white flower power from Regina King and the only thing this really needs is perhaps a bolder lip color, but that tends to be my answer to enhance any outfit.ZendayaHow to take a feature from a paint program and turn it into an excellent outfit; Zendaya’s color palette mosaic bodice and matching skirt lining is a welcome addition to this week’s bold looks and the Confirmation red carpet delivers on an array of striking ensembles.Sarah PaulsonDouble Sarah Paulson this week and first up wearing Philosophy at the FX Upfront The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story screening. Her hair looks really great here (Marcia Clark hair essay plug!) and upfronts fall into the TCA/PaleyFest dress code where there isn’t really one, but you don’t want to go too fancy or shabby. Paulson straddles this middle ground here. The blue heart pendant is a nice touch with this plunging neckline; a subtle nod to her favorite emoji?Holly TaylorBorrowing a coat from her onscreen mom’s wardrobe is Holly Taylor also at the FX Upfront screening and this Coach tan trench is going to be making an appearance this season on The Americans (we have already seen the black version). Adding a touch of sophistication over her black crop top and jeans casual cool ensemble. Tatiana Maslany ColbertTatiana Maslany is a woman after my own heart and as she makes her way into The Late Show with Stephen Colbert heels in hand and yellow sneakers on her feet. Sarah Paulson ColbertSarah Paulson Part II – also appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and while I’m not totally on board with whatever is going on at the bottom of this dress, the plaid coat with leather lapels is more than making up it. Kirsten DunstGet on my coffee table The Gentlewoman, because woah is this cover shot and yellow/black and white pairing so goddamn good.

Out of the Box: Look of the Week

18 Mar

PaleyFest, SXSW and new magazine covers are all on this week’s “Out of the Box” menu and these events are the kind that bring out the best of the casual/fancy in-between zone, which post-award season is my favorite kind of dress code. Melissa BenoistAt the Supergirl PaleyFest panel Supergirl herself, Melissa Benoist pairs a fantastic hypnotic skirt with a classic black turtleneck and I am so here for this level of fun. And she seems charming as hell to boot (even if I have fallen behind on this show – a mantra I could stitch on a cushion right now #PeakTV).Tracee Ellis RossAnother case of a super fun ensemble for PaleyFest and Tracee Ellis Ross combines two of my favorite things – sequins and stripes – at the Black-ish panel. The look on her face and pose says it all really. This is how an outfit should make you feel.Gillian Jacobs, Katie Micucci, Tami SagherAt the Don’t Think Twice SXSW screening floral and colorful geometric prints ruled supreme. Gillian Jacobs high neck sleeveless dress is mesmerizing and as with Mindy Kaling’s Mindy Project costume sneak peek Kate Micucci is making a strong case for floral rompers. Writer Tami Sagher also looks great and I am so ready for spring frocks.Zoe KazanBows and ascots were all over the recent runway shows and at the My Blind Brother screening Zoe Kazan’s long sleeve dress combines several box tickers; Peter Pan collar, floral and an ascot bow. Kazan has appeared a lot on TV Ate My Wardrobe recently and her insight regarding these events is why she is one of my favorite people I follow on Twitter including her reaction to the kinds of questions asked after this particular screening.

Yes this column is all about the ‘looks of the week,’ but I also get why it is important to ask questions about the film in question and not just dress details. And I definitely want to know about technical aspects, particularly all things costume (as anyone who visits this site will be aware). Jenny SlateMore spring foliage and while I’m not fully on board with sleeve cutouts, Jenny Slate is working this style at the My Blind Brother screening. Post SXSW Slate has gone on a roadtrip with Zoe Kazan and she has been documenting this very fun looking adventure on Instagram.Abbi and IlanaEntertainment Weekly hosted a party at the Spotify House celebrating Mr Robot at SXSW and quite a few of our faves showed up including Abbi Jacobson feeding my leather jacket and pleated skirt craving with Ilana Glazer hitting the t-neck points. This is more casual than the SXSW premiere events and style wise it is similar to the Sundance Film Festival, but switching out knitwear for denim short shorts. Tatiana MaslanyThis is cute and casual from Tatiana Maslany and perfect for hanging out on our future BFF dates. I am also impressed that even with the MANY hairstyles we have seen her rocking that her actual hair is different from every clone version. This is somewhere between Sarah and Helena’s huge blonde mass of curls.Alia Shawkat and Rami MalekTatiana Maslany’s boyfriend Tom Cullen captured the perfect “they look just like sisters’ shot of Maslany with Ilana Glazer and Alia Shawkat at the EW Mr Robot SXSW party and Shawkat poses with man of the hour and Mr Robot star Rami Malek. THRI love the annual Hollywood Reporter ‘Stylist and Stars’ issue and list especially as it comes so soon after a stylists busiest season. Rami Malek is wearing that stunning purple Calvin Klein suit he wore to the Independent Spirit Awards with Ilaria Urbinati and we gave her a shout out at the time because her work with Malek has been incredible.

Celebrating the people who give us plenty to write about when it comes to red carpet style is important and Leesa Evans (who is also a costume designer and has worked on a whole lot of Apatow produced movies such as Amy Schumer’s Trainwreck) appears with Amy Schumer, Jeff K. Kim alongside Michael B. Jordan (who always crushes any suit he is given) and another TV Ate My Wardrobe regular Brie Larson with Cristina Ehrlich. So yes let’s give a whole lot of love to the stylists.Kerry Washington ElleIt is rare to see a sweatshirt on the cover of a fashion magazine and awkward pulling it down aside, this cover is really great and Kerry Washington is always someone I am happy to see showcased in this manner. Washington discusses her new HBO movie Confirmation as well as the changing TV and film landscape. She talks about feeling invisible in her career pre-Scandal and that she’s had a conversation with Viola Davis and Taraji P. Henson regarding this  and how “Television changed the game. Coming into people’s houses on a weekly basis is just a different kind of relationship to the public.” The issue is available to buy on both physical and digital newsstands now.

Out of the Box: Look of the Week

4 Mar

The final hurrah of award season is here with a look at the best of the Vanity Fair party where quite a few dresses were better than the ones worn to the actual Oscar ceremony. Plus funky street style, Paris Fashion Week and talk show appearance outfit joy.Alicia VikanderNow this is what I am talking about and while I liked Alicia Vikander’s Oscar dress it just didn’t have the all heart eyes emoji factor. If she had worn this super sexy sequin Louis Vuitton dress first there might have been declarations of it not bringing the woah factor, but I think my jaw would have been on the floor. It has all the cool vibes that Vikander normally brings with the best Oscar after party accessory. Elizabeth BanksElizabeth Banks knows how to bring it and once again the reaction I had to this dress was what was missing from most of the overall red carpet. Maybe she should have been at the awards ceremony too. A caped jumpsuit isn’t the easiest of looks to pull off, but Banks does just that in Ralph and Russo. If I didn’t already have a strong idea of what I want to wear to my wedding this year then this would provide amazing inspiration.Mindy KalingThe next three looks are also upgrades from what was worn on the Oscar red carpet and Mindy Kaling stuck to her black dress with a twist theme switching Elizabeth Kennedy for custom Salvador Perez. Perez as we have mentioned on a number of occasions is the Mindy Project costume designer and his creations highlight everything amazing about Kaling’s figure. I did also love Mindy’s day after the Oscars outfit.Priyanka ChopraPriyanka Chopra’s crystal embellished Jenny Packham ensemble hits all the right sparkle spots and this looks like the kind of outfit which might be worn for a super dramatic late ’70s soap opera moment; I am so here for that.Sophie TurnerWearing Galvan for both the Oscars and the after party and Sophie Turner’s second outfit is the standout thanks its bold color. The very cool thing about both gowns is they are made from sustainable materials to promote socially responsible fashionPatricia ClarksonThere is something so soothing about Patricia Clarkson and she is always someone I am very happy to see both on screen and the red carpet. Plunging floral embroidered Alberta Ferretti and a strong red lip is an instant yes. Kirsten DunstSpring is here! And yes it did snow this week, but the sun is shining now and Kirsten Dunst’s yellow floral frock is making me forget that I am still wearing an outfit entirely made up of various chunky knits.Kate Mara H&M PFWOn the flip side I’m still aware of just how cold it still is and Kate Mara’s summer dress getting hidden by a fabulous coat at the H&M Paris Fashion Week show makes so much sense to me right now. And now for a dress that straddles the winter/summer divide and Keri Russell is crushing it with her maternity style in Valentino on Late Night with Seth Meyers this week. In the interview they discussed The Americans (which is back in just over a week!), going and buying coffee while in costume, slapping people and Felicity. Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer also appeared on this episode in what is probably my dream talk show booking (watch the whole episode here).

Thanks to makeup artist Tina Turnbow we have a closer look at not only the exquisite floral detail of the dress and those amazing earrings, but also the striking purple eyes which is giving me flashbacks to this and one of my own personal favorite eyeliners (also thanks to Turnbow).
