So many sequins and bold color on Out of the Box this week with looks from the BET Awards, movie premieres and other red carpet shindigs bringing all the summer dress delights. 
Yara Shahidi super fun and super colorful Tracy Reese dress for the 2016 BET Awards is playing into two of my great loves; stripes and sparkles. The teenage Black-ish star has picked out a look that is both age appropriate and stands out. Gold vintage Tommy Hilfiger stacked heels are the perfect shoe as they shimmer without clashing. More bold sequins at the BET Awards with singer Andra Day delivering on vintage looking glam and this entire ensemble is stunning right down to purple Moschino pumps. 
A Prada sequin mini for Aubrey Plaza and this is ultimate Megan Draper has just hit California attire. So I am of course so here for it.
I would like to see a live action movie with Jenny Slate, Ellie Kemper and Lake Bell and not just The Secret Life of Pets, which is what they are promoting here. Dress pretty for all three ladies and this was also the occasion where Jenny Slate made things red carpet official with Chris Evans.
Glorious green caftan at the ready for Lauren Ambrose at the Amazon pilots event. I like this super boho look a lot more than the Interestings pilot (I loved the book, but think the show misses a lot of what made this group charming). I really like Ambrose and have high hopes that if it does go to series they will fix these issues.
At the Tarzan premiere Cush Jumbo is also doing the casual glam thing in Michael Kors and this really makes me want to grab a cocktail with her.

Unplanned accidental ladysuit black and white reversed co-ordination at the OITNB Times Talk panel.
Danielle Brooks bows out of this talk early (after taking this great picture of Taylor Schilling and Laura Prepon) and she has the best reason; she has to go to her other job performing on Broadway in The Color Purple.

Out of the Box: Look of the Week
24 Jun“Out of the Box” is a smorgasbord of outfit YES moments including prints, super cute collars and red lipstick. Plus the platonic ideal of a casual outfit, sunglasses and discussing a new TV character style icon.
I am a big Parker Posey and Coach fan – this leather T-Rex adorned varsity jacket is amazing – so the combination of both at the 2016 Coach And Friends Of The High Line Summer Party is pretty much the best. Part of the Posey charm is that she can pattern clash the shit out of anything and still look this fantastic.
Coach are embracing prints that would make perfect 1970s carpet/wallpaper/any upholstery and in non-shocking news I am so here for it. Jessica Joffe’s dress hits all the right notes and I’m currently coveting a whole lot from Coach’s RTW collection.
Ladysuit, red lips, fantastic collar and silver shoes; Evan Rachel Wood at the Into the Forest premiere wears all of my favorite things.
Ideal casual outfit alert from Aubrey Plaza on her way in to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and I will never not love a great sweater paired with jeans and white (Commes des Garcon – you can’t see the heart face in this shot sadly) Cons. And as the Fug Girls say; everyone looks hotter in sunglasses.
At the BFG premiere Kristen Schaal did pleats and block color in the best possible way. Schaal’s a big fan of flats and for that I salute her especially when pink Oxfords are her shoe of choice.
Interview Magazine keeps dishing up excellent editorials and Ruth Negga’s is another to add to the stunning list. Despite it being June I’m having a whole lot of strong coat feelings this week and this Miu Miu one delivers on every level. Negga’s Tulip is the best thing about Preacher and a new TV style icon to adore; she discusses the audition process and that she has worked with Dominic Cooper on a number of occasions prior to this. Plus what she thinks about the tone of Preacher:
“I really like that kind of oddness. Everything seems straightforward in Preacher but nothing is; everything is kind of askew. You’re dealing with this hyper unrealness—that’s what comics are—and I like that sort of twist.”
Negga also chats about Cannes and the film Loving which is already getting some very early awards buzz.
Knitwear, Boots and Coats Galore at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival
25 JanIn a sea of red carpets at this time of year Sundance stands out because heels are replaced by boots and wool is a predominant fabric. Plus the chance of sheer ruining an ensemble is dramatically reduced. Award season indulges in wish fulfillment aspects of fashion and the fancy pants levels are high; while I love the decadent and intricate details of gowns galore, there is something rather wonderful about the casual cool at the Sundance Film Festival.
What this boils down to is a combination of a several things including a love of all things winter wear – yes I have snow FOMO right now – with a dash of ‘stars they’re just like us’ and the kind of movies that are being showcased. Considering how many different knitted I am wearing right now (including leggings and long bootie socks) combined with how many sweater posts we have produced on TV Ate My Wardrobe it will come as no big surprise that I am in style heaven right now.
April Ludgate was an ultimate sweater queen and there was no doubt that Aubrey Plaza would not disappear from these pages when Parks and Recreation ended. At the Joshy premiere Plaza goes for a cozy ribbed sweater delight paired with skinny jeans, black boots and the always wonderful Jenny Slate. Also killing it with her boots choice, pleated skirt and sweater tee.
Celeb style lounges pretty much sound like the best thing especially when warm coats and boots are up for grabs so Sundance has this perk in the bag too. At Kari Feinstein’s Style Lounge Amandla Stenberg gives a good style lesson in long dress chunky knits; performing the double of super cozy and funky all at once.
Also at the Kari Feinstein Style Lounge Alison Brie shows off fur hooded and toggle coat excellence demonstrating exactly why this is the ideal place for a freebie haul.
Getting whiffs of Grey Gardens and now picturing Chloë Sevigny and Natasha Lyonne as Big and Little Edie as they attend Lena Dunham and Planned Parenthood’s ‘Sex, Politics & Film’ cocktail reception. I mean this as a huge compliment. Sweater heaven continues.
Where else would you see Allison Janney in green leather pants?! Extra points for the chunky roll neck sweater at the Tallulah premiere. Tallulah writer/director Sian Heder is pretty much wearing my platonic ideal of a casual outfit – boots/tights/striped dress – and I am very much looking forward to seeing this film.
Brianna Hildebrand covers all the coat and patterned shirt bases at the First Girl I Loved premiere. Jeans are once again the pants of choice paired with – you guessed it – black boots.

Out of the Box: Look of the Week – Best of 2015 Part 2
31 DecWe have written about a lot of outfits both on and off screen this year and the 2015 Best Of series turns its attention toward our Look of the Week column, which has featured a whole host of red carpet appearances, magazine covers/editorial styling and many other sartorially infused events. And this is the second part of our “Out of the Box” rundown showcasing our favorites from a very stylish year (head here for Part 1).
Best ‘For Your Consideration’ Ad
Somehow Gina Rodriguez did not get nominated for an Emmy this year, which based on her performance and this incredible ‘For Your Consideration’ ad blows my mind. Ladysuit excellence.
Best Twirl
Another fantastic year for Lupita Nyong’o on the red carpet and in fashion magazines with this Gucci dress twirl at Cannes giving plenty of 2014 Oscar flashbacks. Plus it proves that if you wear pleats there will always be the urge to whirl. Now for someone to cast her in a lead role please.
Best Peplum
It is well documented that I have jumpsuit issues (more on myself than anyone else) and adding peplum opens up a whole world of potential concerns, but this Roksanda number (a brand we heart) is beating the odds and it might help that Tatiana Maslany is the one wearing it. The red pumps do clash with the colored waistband, but this is totally working for me.
Best White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner
Mixing 70s cool with Old Hollywood glam in Peter Pilotto at the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner is Gillian Jacobs showing exactly why she is an “Out of the Box” regular.
Best Ladies on a Ladysuit
Or rather Mae Whitman wears the “Boob Suit” by Rachel Antonoff at a Refinery 29 event and I adore the irreverence of the ensemble. Whitman is killing it with her red lipstick choice and Mamie Gummer’s coat skirts bathrobe territory without stepping on the Dude’s toes. Excellent boots and jeans pairing.
Best Floral
2015 is the year we said goodbye to TV Ate My Wardrobe style icon April Ludgate, but there is still plenty of Aubrey Plaza sartorial brilliance including this color blast floral Suno mini dress at the Independent Spirit Awards.
Best Stripes
Chevron striped Gucci for Kirsten Dunst and it is 70s inspired without feeling like it is from Peggy Blumquist’s wardrobe. Another platonic ideal of an outfit.
Best Sheer
This year has been awash with a lot of bad sheer; turning a good outfit into a scrolldown nightmare. However, there are always exceptions to the rule such as this Valentino starry eyed number and Naomie Harris crushed the Spectre promo tour.
Best Magazine Cover Part 2
Fashion was all about the 70s and I don’t think I need to mention again how much I adore the looks from this decade, but this WSJ Carey Mulligan cover/editorial is pretty much the dream. Also more Valentino with this jacket and across the two Out of the Box Best of 2015 posts they are the most featured brand. Good work, Valentino!
Best Black and White
Another year of Kiernan Shipka dressing much better than me and it is hard to believe she only turned 16 last month. This Interview shot captures her fashion cool without a) dressing her older than her age and b) putting her in something she wouldn’t actually wear.
Most on Point Dress Part 2
This is still the photo on my phone lockscreen and I can’t get enough of Gwendoline Christie in her Captain Phasma infused Giles Deacon dress for the ‘Force 4 Fashion’ Bloomingdales charity event.
Best Sundance Cool
Jessica Williams is still our favorite Daily Show correspondent and she is also slaying on the Sundance portrait front showing off the vital boots/tights/thick socks combination.
Most Precarious Walk
Less weather appropriate is Keri Russell in a very snowy/icy New York on her way to The Today Show back in January. I could barely walk in these Alaïa sandals in the best weather conditions and it would very much be a Bambi on ice situation. The rest of the outfit is terrific including the rose covered Victoria Beckham skirt and there are strong coat feelings going on right now. If only it was currently cold enough to wear outerwear like this.
Best Couple
Pushing recent tabloid rumors aside it has been another really strong year for Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson on the red carpet. This is another occasion of Kruger as the Magical Fashion Unicorn as I’m not sure there are many who could pull off this cutout vintage Roland Mouret ensemble and Joshua Jackson scrubs up nicely at the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic. Let’s hope there is more of this in 2016.
Best TCA Pairing
Pete and Peggy feeeeeelings are happening because of this winter TCA Elisabeth Moss and Vincent Kartheiser moment. I’m so glad the final season of Mad Men addressed their relationship in this manner. Plus more red pumps <3.
Best ‘Could be Related’
It might be the matching luscious brunette locks and similar attire, but Liv Tyler and Margaret Qualley gave off a related to each other vibe at the season 2 premiere of The Leftovers. Now that would be a season 3 twist.

Best of TV Costuming 2015: Best of the Rest Part 1
22 DecWelcome to TV Ate My Wardrobe’s “Best of 2015” costuming series and rather than doing a straightforward countdown we’re going to do a variety of posts that look at which costumes and shows have made a huge impact this year. From items we want in our own wardrobe to pieces that got everyone talking; we want to celebrate the work of television’s best costume designers.
So far the Best of 2015 series has focused on in-depth costuming achievements from The Americans, Hannibal, Fargo and Mad Men. Plus a special You’re the Worst “Music Monday” end credits rundown.
Now is the turn of a huge range of shows we have been watching this year from network, cable and streaming with comedy, drama and all those other hard to categorize scripted offerings. There has been so many fantastic individual moments that we have had to split this post into two otherwise the scrolling would be endless.
Here is Part 1 of the standout costuming moments in 2015.
Most On Point Accessorizing
What better way to appease the dragon that has done a runner than wear a necklace bearing a very familiar image and this comes in particularly handy for Daenerys in “The Dance of Dragons” when Drogon makes a very timely entrance. The influence of Daenerys’ heritage has been visible throughout the texture of her costuming which at times has been scaly in appearance. Yunus & Eliza designed this stunning piece (click here for a closer look) and it really is fit for a queen.
The Leather Jacket Award
As with last year there have been a whole slew of leather jacket wearing stunners, but there is one lady who takes wearing this garment to every outfit level and that is Jessica Jones. Not pictured are the very 90s looking jeans that are also glued to her body pretty much all of the time and this signature look makes sense when the show takes a deep dive into her backstory.
Who Rocks a Lot of Polka Dots
Cookie Lyon has gone through a style evolution since she was released from prison going from matching animal prints to high end garments as she has caught up with trends and got accustomed to her wealth. One of my favorites is this Dolce & Gabbana polka dot blouse; perfect for a dramatic exit and a fun take on the tablecloth party trick. Cookie’s always going to eat.
Best Mustache – 1980s Edition
Not only did Oscar Isaac take dancing in dad jeans to Bruce Springsteen to new levels, but he also worked this mustache in ways I did not think possible in Show Me a Hero. The mini-series from David Simon is terrific and devastating and not just for the 80s fashion. And even several months after watching it still makes my heart ache when I think about Oscar Isaac’s performance.
Best Mustache – 1970s Edition
Of all the Mad Men characters who would embrace a new decade with some additional facial hair it really makes sense that it would be Roger Sterling. It could easily be kinda skeezy (and of course Roger has entered this territory on more than one occasion), but there’s also something elder statesmen about it and that’s what he is. And I would happily watch an endless loop of Roger and Peggy hanging out in their now deserted office.
Top Hat Placement and Male Nudity on Cable
Alleviating the awkward of the first time with cute top hat parlor tricks is Bertie on The Knick and it is all around adorable. While this is the most of Michael Angarano that we get to see, cable has embraced male nudity this season on a level we haven’t previously seen with both The Leftovers and The Affair showing far more dudes naked than women this year. Game of Thrones you have some catching up to do.
#LadySuitWatch2015 Shorts Winner
My response to seeing Abbi as Val for the first time is pretty much the same as Ilana’s jaw on the floor expression:
Ladysuits of the shorts variety are classic cabaret attire and I am so here for this Judy Garland/Liza Minnelli style and singing mashup inspiration.
#LadySuitWatch2015 Patterned Shirt Winner
Denise is not only stylish as hell as demonstrated by her movie premiere ladysuit wearing ways, but she is also one of the best things about Aziz Ansari’s excellent Master of None helping make a citizen’s arrest in the stellar “Ladies and Gentleman” and offering up sound dating advice (even if she ends up ignoring it).
The Outwear and Boots Crime Fighting Title
Season 3 of The Bridge (Broen/Bron) lost one of its main stars, but didn’t lose any of its quality introducing a new partner for Saga who turned out to be just as compelling (if not even more so than his predecessor – sorry Martin). Style wise the pair complement each other rather well favoring classic coats and boots for their crime fighting attire; Saga is still all about the olive leather pants and Henrik also tucks his trousers into his boots because who wants those flapping in the wind while running after a suspect.
Best Reason to Invest in a Big Warm Coat
Fortitude is part X-Files like mystery, part exploration of the human condition in an extreme and isolated environment. It is also a very good advert for furry hoods and big coats; yes I even invested in my own.
Red Lipstick Queen
There is plenty to love about Peggy Carter and season 2 is just a couple of weeks away! Agent Carter also gets added to the How TV Ate My Wardrobe list in the makeup department as I invested in Peggy’s Besame 1946 lipstick and there is also the bonus of beautiful packaging along with fantastic red lips.

Denim Dream
1981 was a great year for denim and there is a residual 70s influence on fashion in Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp with high waisted flares and dungaree delights. Also pairing anything with short shorts is fair game.
Best Future April Ludgate
2015 saw the end of Parks and Recreation prompting plenty of finale tears. This also means saying goodbye to one of TV Ate My Wardrobe’s biggest style influences and I am happy to report that future April Ludgate is still very much in our sartorial good graces.
What to Wear on Your European Vacation
Traveling across Europe with Hannibal Lecter means packing your finest threads and Bedelia is up for that challenge with this blue 1940s spy looking ensemble even if this is the opposite of staying incognito.
Sunglasses I Need in my Life
Yes I am still highly coveting Gretchen’s round opal yellow Wayfarer sunglasses for the second year in a row.
Most On Point Accessorizing Part 2
Gina is not just the TV Ate My Wardrobe Sweater Queen (her turtleneck game has been strong all season), but she’s also the reason why I yell “Wolfie” at the screen whenever any of the direwolves pop up on Game of Thrones. So when Gina appeared on screen in the episode “Beach House,” which kicked off the new year for Brooklyn Nine-Nine in this hat/scarf/glove combo it also caused me to yell “Wolfie” on this occasion too.
Festive Relationship Goals
Looking is almost over (*sob*) and before its one final outing in the form of a TV movie next year, let us bask in Eddie’s Santa outfit and how Agustín went from loathsome narcissist to the dude (and ship) I was heavily invested in by the end of season 2. Good character development, show.

Out of the Box: Look of the Week
20 NovAfter last week’s pants and ladysuits affair we are returning to a dress filled “Out of the Box” with plenty of bold color, pattern (SO MANY STRIPES) and statement frocks. The pitter patter of awards campaigning is upon us plus premieres and other end of year events are bringing these sartorial treats.
Happy Jessica Jones Day! And Krysten Ritter looks phenomenal at the New York premiere in ethereal Zuhair Murad Resort 2016 demonstrating the ideal amount of sheer. I am very excited to start this new Netflix series and I’m sure I will have some thoughts on here in the next week or so (depending on how quickly I burn through it).
Another floaty white ensemble delight from Lizzy Caplan in Thakoon at the Night Before premiere, which manages to capture festive cheer in a subtle fashion. Plus another lesson in sheer that doesn’t make me sadness sigh.
The Academy events are here and at the 7th annual Governors Awards on Saturday, Teyonah Parris wore this stripe Pedram Couture beauty. Black and metallic silver are perfect for this time of year and Parris is always on top form on the red carpet.
Brie Larson keeps it super simple in Calvin Klein and stands out in doing so. I cannot wait to see much more of her on the red carpet this award season. Still very much feeling her reaction to Cate Blanchett in a jumpsuit.
Another flawless block color dress and Ava DuVernay’s blue peplum Elvira Jude is striking, as are the gold pumps which are peeking out the bottom.
Emily Blunt is a TV Ate My Wardrobe fave both on and off screen; she constantly makes interesting choices including this shimmery Marc Jacobs resort frock. Loving the leather collar.
Kerry Washington adds to the stripe joy in a matching Saloni top and skirt with thankfully not quite matchy matchy Nicholas Kirkwood chevron pumps at the inaugural WWD/Variety Stylemakers event. The work of Scandal costume designer Lyn Paolo was recognized with Washington presenting her with the award and after ditching Scandal this season, I just watched the mid-season finale and those costumes really are everything. This one had it all from the fanciest of frocks to incredible coats and an all important wine cardigan, plus the episode was also really great.
Now this is pretty much a dream dress and Kirsten Dunst has been appearing a lot on here recently; I think this Gucci chevron-striped frock might be my favorite as it has a very 70s feel to it without looking like she has just come straight from the set of Fargo.
Pretty Much the Dream Dress Part 2 with Elizabeth Banks in a colorful sequin stripe Dolce & Gabbana number at the LA Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 premiere and this has festive party written all over it.
Double Elizabeth Banks this week as I couldn’t resist this Giulietta fun play on the LBD at the VH1 Big in 2015 with Entertainment Weekly Awards.
And now a twist on a white sporty style mini dress from Aubrey Plaza paired with stacked strappy heels giving this an overall retro feel.
I just realized that season 3 of Broad City isn’t too far away (okay slightly further away than expected as yesterday it was announced its return will be February 17 instead of the usual January window) and I definitely don’t need an excuse to post a photo of these amazing ladies.
Attending the Worldwide Orphans Gala (of which Amy Poehler has served as an Ambassador of the Arts since 2013) they struck the balance between casual and fancy with Ilana’s matching crop top and skirt combo working like a charm and I am so here for Abbi’s floral wrap. Amy’s sparkly skirt is also super festive appropriate and this outfit also reminds me of how much I love/agree with Rachel Syme’s recent tights essay (although I would’ve gone with a different color pump).
Behind the Insta-Scenes: Photos from the Emmys
22 SepA special Emmys “Behind the Insta-Scenes” with TV stars documenting the whole process from pre-parties, getting ready rituals to the day after.
The Orange is the New Black cast are a regular fixture on this column and they really have the whole Emmy weekend covered; it is good to see this much enthusiasm not just for their show, but the whole experience. Best of the Emmy 2015 Red Carpet – Sparkles, LadySuits and Shoulder Chains
21 SepWelcome to the TV Ate My Wardrobe Emmy red carpet coverage and after plenty of amazing pre-party looks the main event delivers on fantastic frocks, ladysuits and some eyebrow raising outfit choices. There are many outfits to discuss and so we have three posts offering up our highlights of the gowns, suits and those garments which are harder to categorize.

Hands down Aubrey Plaza in glitzy Alexandre Vauthier gown is my overall favorite of the night and everything about this is perfection; Aubrey and her Parks and Rec character April are TV Ate My Wardrobe style queens and she makes this whole thing look so effortlessly cool.
When Tatiana Maslany stepped onto the red carpet I maybe had a minor meltdown at this #LadySuitWatch2015 moment. Maslany did joke that she wished her Bouchra Jarrar white tux was cutoff shorts instead (much like her Friday party outfit), in fact I don’t think she was joking as everyone appeared to be melting in the LA heat. All the heart eyes.
Wearing custom Alexander Wang and spicing up a black dress with bike chain straps, pleats and the ideal balance of sheer and cut out elements makes Taraji P. Henson a winner on the red carpet, even if she did miss out in her category. Not that she seemed to mind as she cheered on Viola Davis.
After attending the Naeem Khan NYFW runway show last week Christina Hendricks chose this designer for her last Mad Men Emmys moment and she looks like an Art Deco sensation in this gold beaded gown.

A different spin on red carpet attire and another take on menswear trend from Sophie Turner in a Galvan jumpsuit and this shade of violet blue with her red hair is stunning. Excellent accessorizing too.
Game of Thrones did very well on the awards and style front and even though Lena Headey didn’t win in her category this Zuhair Murad Couture gown is divine.
While we’re on the subject of GoT here is a hot dude in a tux break courtesy of Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. Oh, hello.
This is a signature Sofia Vergara look in metallic St. John and a style that is still working wonders for her.
Gonna throw in a couple of black frocks to round this first post off with and Amanda Peet’s red lipstick game is strong and the same can be said for her Michael Kors floral textured gown.
Lady Gaga sauntered on the red carpet looking dramatic and Old Hollywood with a modern twist in Brandon Maxwell. I cannot wait to see more of her American Horror Story: Hotel costuming (even if I will probably only watch a handful of episodes).
Things you can rely on from the Emmys – if Julia Louis-Dreyfus is nominated she will win and her dress choice will be something classic. Tick for both and while her Safiyaa gown is not going to reinvent the wheel she does look fabulous.
A late #LadySuitWatch2015 addition and one I can’t believe I missed earlier because Lisa Kudrow looks like a BAMF here. And while she didn’t get her Valerie moment I’m so glad The Comeback was at least in the fight. Stay tuned for Pretty in Pink and Bold Color and Print red carpet rundowns.
Out of the Box: Look of the Week
21 AugA collection of summer dresses, classic silhouettes, sparkles and super chill looks from this week’s “Out of the Box.” Plus more magazine treats including some Fargo season 2 hints.
Lupita Nyong’o continues to reign supreme in the red carpet stakes and this colorful graphic stripes Lanvin mini frock is ideal D23 Expo attire. It is a fun look and I cannot wait until the full blown Star Wars press tour in December.
This is a sparkly floral delight from Kristen Stewart in tailored to perfection Zuhair Murad. Down the red carpet she went barefoot and this only makes me heart her more (the length of time my heels stay on varies, but it is pretty much a flip flop/barefoot swap before the end of the night). This recent KStew press tour has been one sartorial hit after another from magazine covers to the red carpet.
The nude pumps are a bit of a snooze, but I’m going to give Lake Bell a pass on the shoe front as this red Vionnet Resort 2016 dress is super chic excellence. Plus Bell gets the bonus red lipstick and excellent clutch points at the No Escape premiere.
Not sure what I’m lusting after more – Kerry Washington’s sunglasses or her floral Suno frock. This is at Jennifer Klein’s Day of Indulgence event which sounds like a whole lot of free stuff joy, which also sounds very appealing.
Second week in a row for Aubrey Plaza and she once again looks casual cool in sunglasses and buttoned up blouse as she also attends the Day of Indulgence.
The Stephen Colbert September issue GQ profile has plenty of incredible suits and poses throughout New York. It is well worth a read particularly the second half where things turn to dealing with tragedy at a young age.
Kirsten Dunst serves up another 70s inspired photo shoot and whereas Town and Country took a Virgin Suicides inspiration in floaty whites, in Gotham Magazine she is giving off Jane Birkin vibes. The interview is conducted by Julianne Moore and covers quite a lot of ground including which film is closest to her own character (Bring it On), being a child actor and what drew her to Fargo. She also reveals some plot details and the costuming comes up; I am very excited this aspect as this is my favorite clothing decade.
“In the first few episodes, I wanted people to look at Peggy and giggle a little bit—just a pinch! Not at her, but with her, just so that you’re on this girl’s side. Some of the stuff that she manipulates her husband into doing! I had red gloves because I was caught red-handed. And because this character wants to get out of Minnesota, I wanted her to have a beret to wear, or a shirt that has the Eiffel Tower all over it.”
She also says nice things about Jesse Plemons, because of course “He’s awesome. Most of our scenes are together, and we developed a great friendship.”
