Behind the Insta-Scenes: Photos from the Set

19 Aug

The steady stream of shows returning to set for the fall season continues and we’ve got a mix of weekly favorites such as The Mindy Project and Orange is the New Black with some new faces. Plus magazine cover flashbacks, editorial dance parties and some style highs on this week’s “Behind the Insta-Scenes.”

Jane the Virgin is back for season 2 in October (Monday 12) and the cast are looking all kinds of adorable as they sit down and fist bump over their first table read of the new TV year. And I just remembered Britney Spears is going to be on the show, which might send me down another happy Britney gif hole. I am more than fine with this.

Cute summer dress goals with a twist of 1960s inspiration courtesy of Mae Whitman – who killed it on the Teen Choice Awards red carpet – in Rachel Antonoff when she appeared on The Tonight Show. Whitman got to squish up with Kevin Spacey and Keegan Michael Key and various others in a phone booth and this dress held up well.

Morgan’s tattoo is making an appearance on season 4 of The Mindy Project but it’s Mindy’s Bedhead flamingo pjs that have caught my eye. Adding to the ever growing Mindy covet list.

It’s not just the ladies who are awash with color and print on The Mindy Project as Garret Dilahunt gives a sneak peek at his bold costuming. Dilahunt will be playing Mindy’s maternity leave cover and he thinks she is a ‘tacky idiot.’

I have definitely got some accidental #NOTASNAP videos on my phone from various nights out where stumbly fingers change the setting, but this one by Chelsea Peretti seems all purpose.

Also from the Brooklyn Nine-Nine set and could this be the return of the wolfie sweater? Or maybe just an old picture (her hair looks different so I’m leaning towards it making a comeback). I am so excited for the return of one of TV Ate My Wardrobe’s sweater and all round costume queens.

Your weekly dose of Orange is the New Black set life with Samira Wiley posting a photo on Instagram while she is looking on Instagram.

On set but not in costume with Jackie Cruz showing her support for the ‘free the nipple’ campaign in a cute crop top, jorts and Cons combo.

The cast of Empire are featured in the iconic Vogue September issue; all super glammed up and with plenty of dancing on set.

So here for old magazine covers, particularly ones which don’t really make a whole lot of sense. Like why did they think the licking of the face thing was a good direction to go in? It is definitely something different that’s for sure and I feel a lot better about this than the other face licking which has appeared on TV recently (I’m looking at you Scandal).

This has made me equal parts happy and sad; I’m still not over you, Carrie Diaries.

It’s a party over at Sleepy Hollow for Jenny Mills, the returning Joe Corbin and a mystery man played by Anthony K. Hyatt.

I didn’t see the first season of Secrets and Lies – did Ryan Phillippe do it? – but Juliette Lewis and her sharp dressing new cast mates are making me very intrigued for season 2.

Happy Wednesday!

Behind the Insta-Scenes: Photos from the Set

22 Jul

Plenty of casts from fall shows have returned to set for their new seasons so while we have to wait until September to see the fruits of their labor, it is maybe time to infer things from the behind the scenes sneak peeks. Plus reunions, cute outfits and TV watching faces.

Belfast airport is the place to spot Game of Thrones cast members as production of season 6 begins and sadly the wait for viewers is going to be a little longer than fall. Daenerys has been reunited with Missandei by a nice selection of mugs and it is no big surprise seeing Emilia Clarke and Nathalie Emmanuel heading back even if their characters are currently separated. All eyes are on another person who happened to make his way to Belfast.

Robbie Amell (who has just be cast in the new X-Files revival along with Lauren Ambrose!) and Victor Garber are back on the set of The Flash, but it’s Grant Gustin’s hoodie over his new Flash suit that I am distracted by. Maybe Barry should rock this look.

Props galore on Arrow including Felicity Smoak’s glasses, some nude pumps and what looks like some kind of weapon. What could this all mean?

In less vague costume news Bellamy Young shows off the mostly colorful Manolo Blahnik heels with a dash of Kate Spade during a ball gown fitting with Scandal costume designer Lyn Paolo. Fancy pants party scenes are a favorite.

Also over at Scandal, Kerry Washington and Josh Malina go for full Superman bystander mode.

Puppies! Continuing to look like a very happy place to work is the Orange is the New Black set and it was a good week for the Netflix show as they received four Emmy nominations including Best Drama Series.

Jussie Smollett celebrates Taraji P. Henson’s Emmy nomination by posting this video of her…

This is very exciting and an appropriately mysterious shot from Rhys Darby on the set of The X-Files.

Where he also got to hang out with Kumail Nanjiani and I am thrilled Nanjiani is going to be in an episode. If you haven’t listened to his podcast The X-Files Files and you’re currently rewatching before the revival then I definitely recommend you do.

Bad form at this end as I didn’t know Joshua Jackson was on Instagram (in my defense he hasn’t posted that much before this week and I am far too distracted by Diane Kruger’s excellent feed). He’s making me long for a beach trip as a result of showing off the beautiful locations they use on The Affair. There is also a shot of something a bit more intimate that he has to wear on this show.

Mindy Kaling records the audiobook for the forthcoming Why Not Me? in a super cute and pattern clashing ensemble.

An accurate representation of my True D watching face. Sadly I don’t have curls as big as Jenny Slate’s.

Out of the Box: Look of the Week

10 Jul

Before the domination of Comic-Con panel and party pictures we’ve got a mix of magazine editorials, fashion week styling and a hair conspiracy that could eclipse Felicity.

Gillian Anderson WMesmerized by this stunning shot of Gillian Anderson from W Magazine’s Pop Issue and we are so lucky to have this much Anderson on TV right now. From her current role as Bedelia on Hannibal to the forthcoming final season of The Fall AND the all important/super exciting X-Files revival. The latter unleashed its first bit of new footage this week and even though it was only a couple of seconds long the sight of Mulder and Scully with their guns and flashlights drawn full on made me yelp with joy.

[Source]

Mindy KalingMindy Kaling looking fierce as fuck also from the Pop Issue of W Magazine as she looks ready to steal your heart and a 1930s gangster’s mind. That or she is rivaling everything Blake Lively from the New Year’s scenes in Age of Adaline (a movie I somehow liked enough to see twice).

Kate MaraCovering this month’s issue of Flare is Kate Mara and they have styled her in whole array of dreamy and romantic outfits including this stunning Preen by Thornton Bregazzi top. It’s all very delicate, lovely and on occasion over the top, which is delightful as is her choppy auburn bob.

LupitaShowing how to simple and effective chic at the Dior show during Paris Couture Fashion Week is Lupita Nyong’o wearing a summery short red frock. Excellent sunglasses choice adds an extra pop.

Carice Van Houten and Kees van Nieuwkerk at SchiaparelliSwitching out her signature Game of Thrones costume color is Carice van Houten at the Schiaparelli Show with director/partner Kees van Nieuwkerk. Somehow van Houten is getting away with wearing all that matching pink without it becoming sickly sweet or too matchy matchy; as far as I can tell she avoided all Jon Snow related questions at this Paris Couture Fashion Week show showing just how magical she truly is.

Kit HaringtonSpeaking of which and here is your SPOILER WARNING as when Kit Harington attended Wimbledon at the end of last week it set the internet on fire because he clearly has not had the haircut which was suggested after the Game of Thrones season 5 finale. Vanity Fair’s Jo Robinson has been on #KitHaringtonHairWatch pretty much straight out the gate and he’s clearly not got rid of his Jon Snow curls just yet.

Yes he could be holding onto them as a way of not letting go, but it is more likely due to his lack of wig clause in his contract (Natalie Dormer’s comment on this still makes me laugh). And rather than being a hiatus beard as you see a lot of actors growing this is a Jon Snow amount of facial hair. Regardless of the levels of hair chat that rivals Keri Russell in the fall of 1999, Harington does scrub up well for Wimbledon.

Out of the Box: Look of the Week

12 Jun

Premieres, pre-gaming the Emmys and the first official onset photo from the revival I have already been endlessly talking about are all part of this week’s edition of “Out of the Box.”

Anna Faris and Chris PrattInstant cheering for Anna Faris in an amazing metallic long sleeve mini Rubin Singer dress and it contrasts well with husband Chris Pratt’s blue suit and check shirt combo. They really are the most adorable at the Jurassic World premiere.

Lauren LapkusA close runner up in the adorable stakes is former Orange is the New Black correctional officer Lauren Lapkus and she looks delightful in a super chic LUBLU Kira Plastinina. At first glance the shoes look a little matchy matchy until spotting the iridescent nature of the Andrew Gn pumps. OITNB is back today (!) but sadly I don’t think we will be seeing Fischer (if her IMDb page is anything to go by).

Uzo AdubaIt’s hard knowing all of OITNB season 3 is available to watch and not having seen a single one yet (this will be a different story in a couple of hours hopefully), but Uzo Aduba is soothing those woes in a color blocking delight at last night’s ‘Orangecon’ fan event.

Samira WileyAnd Samira Wiley also looks really lovely by doing the summer dress thing.

Naomie HarrisPeter Pilotto can be hard to pull off as there tends to be a lot going on, but Naomie Harris does just this while attending the UK Entourage premiere (I had avoided acknowledging this movie until now) reminding me there is a new Bond press tour which Harris will be part of in the fall. Cue much anticipation.

Ilana glazerA couple of months ago Variety gathered a whole host of actors from comedy and drama to discuss the roles they play in the ‘Variety Emmy Studio.’ Now the videos are being slowly rolled out and with that come the official portraits. I really love this shot of Broad City’s Ilana Glazer which reads like an amused “what?!” statement with excellent eyebrow and statement jewelry game.

Keri RussellA soul piercing look from Keri Russell and a quote focusing on how Elizabeth dresses on The Americans versus her own style “I wear these silk shirts and high-heeled boots and I feel like that armor has become very much a part of that character to me. I feel very panther-like. It’s much more grown-up than I look in real life. I like the way it makes me feel. It’s much tougher and cooler than I am, than Keri actually is.” For more from the Drama Actors including co-star Matthew Rhys head here.

Gina Rodriguez

Nailing what makes Jane the Virgin so special is Gina Rodriguez who also happens to be rocking the shit out of this cute pose/dress “I feel so lucky that in a scene, the way (Jennie Snyder Urman) writes, I can go from comedy to drama within literally a minute and a half. And it’s so freeing, and I get to stretch my wings and practice and live in my craft and fly.” My tears that flow coupled with all the laughter while watching pretty much episode is a sign this is working.

The X-Files first lookI don’t know if I was more excited by this first shot on set as tweeted by the official X-Files account, the pap photos of Mulder and Scully together again or when I found out that Hannibal costume designer Christopher Hargadon is also working on this X-Files revival. There’s been a lot of excellent moments for an X-Files fan this week even if January seems so far away.

Behind the Insta-Scenes: Photos from the Set

If we were giving out an award for Best Cast on Instagram it would probably be a two-way split between Orange is the New Black and You’re the Worst; this week’s Behind the Insta-Scenes is dominated by these two shows. Plus a few other treats including the return of a Very Important show.

https://instagram.com/p/3ikjjUuyPk/?taken-by=tayjschilling

Orange is the New Black is back on Friday (two days to go!) and some of the cast were in Paris last week to promote the new season. Going full tourist in this beautiful shot with blue skies, pretty dresses and the Eiffel Tower.

Followed by a trip across the ocean to Brazil and Uzo Aduba was joined by Natasha Lyonne and Samira Wiley on the Netflix float at the Brazil Pride Parade. Excellent sunglasses and houndstooth action. Plus plenty of dancing I’m sure.

Post Pride bathroom selfie game is strong.

https://instagram.com/p/3g0_g0JqPs/?taken-by=daniebb3

Gathering a whole host of supporting actors as part of The Hollywood Reporter’s Emmy season and Danielle Brooks gets the best shenanigans partner in Empire’s Jussie Smollett. Work that green feather boa. And I’m totally feeling the beardy snarl face.

Well isn’t this the most adorable?!

We are entering the ATX Television Festival portion of this week’s highlights and the You’re the Worst team documented their time so well that I found it hard to whittle down which photos to use.

The new ‘squeezing as many people into an elevator’ selfie option. Just look down.

https://instagram.com/p/3nZuaFCMjy/?taken-by=maybeayacash

“Fan girling the fuck out on her” sounds very appropriate in this situation. Also Adrianne Palicki is tall.

#SquadGoals

Creator Stephen Falk gives a good array of shots from the event including Kether Donohue’s cute yellow dress. Despite there being no barbecue photos in this collection just the mention gives me an instant craving.

This is also a very appropriate reaction from Mae Whitman. I would have zero chill in this situation.

The revival of The X-Files in the Instagram age is pretty much the ideal. See also Tumblr which is already delivering with the spoilery filming photos which I can’t resist looking at (click if you dare).

A good portion of my Instagrams are around this theme (TV watching/booze) so I am taking Diane Kruger’s Tony watching prep as a ‘stars – they’re just like us’ moment.

Out of the Box: Look of the Week

15 May

An upfronts heavy “Out of the Box” continuing the delightful patterned frock trend with a dash of Cannes in the mix because I don’t want to deny anyone a good dress twirl.

LupitaLet’s kick things off with this stunning Lupita Nyong’o moment at Cannes in green pleated Gucci and it is giving me so many 2014 Oscar feelings. I cannot wait for the Star Wars press tour.

Gillian AndersonAnother thing to get excited about is the return of The X-Files (which now has a premiere date – January 24) and even though I’m not entirely sure how I feel about a blonde Scully as her red hair is very much part of her signature look, I do approve of Gillian Anderson’s funky dress at this event.

Nasim PedradLike jumpsuits and leather jackets, leopard print appears on my ‘one day I will try this’ list and Nasim Pedrad is selling the virtues of this style choice rather well at the Fox upfront. Excellent clutch choice too.

Hannah SimoneWhile I’m not crazy about the shoulder cutouts (and I prefer Gillian Jacobs sleeveless version at the Community TCA panel), Hannah Simone is working this Tanya Taylor frock. Belting and lip color get the accessories and makeup bonus points.

Stephanie BeatrizTaking a brief pretty dress pause with Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s Stephanie Beatriz and yes I bemoaned ruffled shirts just yesterday, but a girl is allowed to change her mind especially when it is paired with killer black pants and a gold blazer.

Aja Naomi King and Samira WileyAja Naomi King and Samira Wiley spring dress it up a storm at the Entertainment Weekly and People upfronts party; very much feeling Wiley’s iridescent and angular clutch.

Caterina ScorsoneMore fun florals and Caterina Scorsone’s red rose dress is a delight at the ABC upfront event.

Martha PlimptonLiving the polka dot dream! I love everything about Martha Plimpton’s classic 50s influence outfit.

Darby StanchfieldA simple chic black dress for Darby Stanchfield and the shoes and hair are where things get interesting. Over on Stanchfield’s Instagram she gives a detailed look at this super intricate hair style. Not one to try by yourself perhaps.

Victor GarberSpy Daddy! Victor Garber is one of the dapper dudes on the CW at the moment. I am very excited to see him on Legends of Tomorrow. Nice pocket square.

Stephen Amell, Ian Somerhalder , Grant GustinMore handsome dudes being handsome in suits (Grant Gustin’s takes the prize here for me). Excellent photobombing work from Aisha Tyler too.

Gina RodriguezThis also looks like it would be super fun to twirl in and Gina Rodriguez pairs a simple white tee with a stunning floal skirt at the CW upfront presentation.

Behind the Insta-Scenes: Photos from the Set

25 Mar

Season and series finales (*SOB*), new season prep, mocked up album artwork and promotional tours are all part of this week’s busy “Behind the Insta-Scenes.”

Kroll Show ended its third and final season last night; there are photos from Nick Kroll, Jenny Slate and Chelsea Peretti in this week’s edition and I’m going to miss Farley, PubLIZity, Too Much Tuna, Ruth Diamond Phillips and many other wonderful beautiful fuck ups from this show. One part of the above collection of Kroll cast and crew that has me getting emotional is Jenny Slate’s ‘First Lady of Kroll Show’ sash.

https://instagram.com/p/0nc9bfOqdB/?taken-by=jennyslate

Jenny Slate posted this glorious photo of an important moment in the history of Kroll Show. Excellent red lipstick points also awarded.

Look like dis! Farely, I heart you.

And now a season finale which is now the series finale and I’m super sad about today’s Looking news. Yes, they’re going to get a special to wrap it up so that’s something, but not the something I was hoping for despite the teeeerible viewing figures. Here is Patrick’s big Felicity moment.

The big Mad Men goodbye has only just begun and I am so not ready for it. What I am more than ready for is all the sartorial offerings from January Jones and the rest of the cast. So here for this monochromatic look and for Jones’ Instagram game.

Actual crying at this mocked up album art for Marnie & Desi in total She & Him fashion despite how much he protests against this comparison. The music on Girls and especially the tracks from the closing credits has been A+ this season and thankfully did not include this duo (Marnie by herself and particularly in this finale is strangely bearable).

Earlier this evening I wrote about how thrilled I am about The X-Files returning and David Duchovny shares a flash from the past to say the same. Hopefully there will be some updated versions of these kinds of shots when they return to the set.

In other TV news it was announced today that Masters of Sex will be back for season 3 Sunday, July 12 and costume designer extraordinaire Ane Crabtree shows a sneak peek into her design/inspiration process with Libby Masters herself, Caitlin Fitzgerald.

The big Game of Thrones season 5 promo push continues with Maisie Williams taking over the Entertainment Weekly Instagram account before her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Bonus Maisie Williams from the official GoT account posing with both Arya and Sansa Funko Pop figures. If only the pair would be reunited on screen soon.

Netflix launched down under in New Zealand and Australia this week with some of the stars of their original programming on hand to celebrate including Orange is the New Black’s Uzo Aduba and Yael Stone here with Netflix Daredevil newbies Charlie Cox and Deborah Ann Woll.

The X-Files Revival Thoughts: On Shipping, 90s Style and Why I Can’t Wait

25 Mar

There has been breaking news stories aplenty including TV cancelations (*sob*), surprise returns, clothing lines, firings, boybands losing a member, clickbait articles which take trolling to new lows and plenty of red carpet moments for big TV premiere events. So it is typical then that all of this has happened while I have been away from my computer and having a rather splendid time in London. Now comes the moment where I have to sit down, have a glass of wine and catch up. First up the one that made me squeal with delight and this comes courtesy of the big X-Files revival as Fox has ordered six brand new episodes.

XFiles_Article_1-3Now I know the last movie was terrible and the later seasons also suffered from convoluted mythology and a lack of one half of the main duo, but that still doesn’t stop me from getting crazy excited there will be more. A couple of weeks ago I started listening to Kumail Nanjiani’s excellent podcast The X Files Files so I’m already in a place of strong Mulder and Scully nostalgia; the timing of this announcement is pretty perfect to be honest.

I started watching The X-Files in 1994 when I was 12 and it was like a shot in the arm for what TV could do. It was scary, smart and featured a central pairing who made me feel a whole lot of things. Yes I shipped Mulder and Scully hard. But it wasn’t just about them getting together romantically and the intimacy between them was far more than just a potential hookup. In recent years/months/weeks there has been talk of more, another movie maybe and even with the memory of the last outing lingering it hasn’t been enough to make me not long for more not when Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny appear to be very up for doing more.

Going the TV route rather than a third movie automatically feels like the smart move going back to its original format rather than cramming a subpar monster story into a movie or crowbarring alien conspiracy into two hours. Six episodes means there could be some of both kinds of X-Files and even though I would prefer monster of the week over the government and aliens, I know that you can’t really have one or the other.

xfiles-first-season-promo-shoot-001A project which has long been simmering in my drafts folder can get the attention it deserves with a costuming/style retrospective of all those pantsuits and trench coats affectionately called “The 90s – Why So Baggy?” Now I have more than a good reason to start an X-Files rewatch, one I have been putting off through feelings of guilt that I should be sticking to stuff I haven’t seen multiple times. The last time I had a huge X-Files binge was when I was super ill and spent three days in bed. It was wonderful aside from the vomit and feeling like shit. Expect confessions regarding what style cues I took from both Mulder and Scully and odes to helmet hair.

Out of the Box: Look of the Week

18 Oct

It’s a genre TV heavy “Out of the Box” this week including a shippers dream and the most fun show on TV right now. As always this is just a snapshot of the week on TV and any other TV related photo shoots or public appearances that have caught the eye of us here at TV Ate My Wardrobe.

Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny AMA

The 20th anniversary of The X-Files continues to bring so much joy as Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny took part in a Reddit AMA (where the above photo is from) and a Paley Center Panel where they flirted a whole bunch and made sure that anyone who had any Mulder/Scully shipper feelings long ago is feeling them all over again. They look great and they’re having so much fun at these panels even if they can’t remember half of the plot of the show (and when it comes to the mythology, who can?).

[Source] [Source]

Sleepy Hollow continues to be one of the most fun things on TV at the moment and part of that joy comes from watching Ichabod adapting to the 21st Century. They don’t play this card too much and as it is used sparingly it adds humor when we do get a scene as he struggles to understand; I totally feel his pain when he is trying to get into the razor wrapped in plastic.

There has been a discussion as to why Ichabod is still wearing his old timey clothes and I think it’s still too soon for the big makeover episode as he’s meant to look out of place. It also gives Ichabod a tangible piece of his past to hold onto while he adapts to the present. He is aware that this might look peculiar as he asks Abbie is he looks out of place in this century and before she can really address this they are interrupted by a well timed radio call. The banter and chemistry between Abbie and Ichabod is one aspect that helps ground Sleepy Hollow even when the most ridiculous things are occurring.

Sleepy Hollow Cast Comic ConWhile I’m on the subject of Sleepy Hollow here is the cast at New York Comic Con from last weekend so you can see what Tom Mison looks like when he’s not in his Revolutionary War attire and yep he looks rather dashing in his scarf and sweater combo. Katia Winter who plays Katrina also gets to ditch her look from the past, but it is Nicole Beharie that stands out in a super cute polka dot dress. Orlando Jones is also looking pretty swish in his vest and green tie.

Rebekah, Klaus, Cammie

The Originals demonstrated that it’s not just Mystic Falls that can throw a decadent affair as a masquerade ball becomes the setting for part of Klaus’ big plan. This is all about light and dark and while the symbolism is rather obvious it doesn’t make it any less glamorous as the innocent Cami has taken fashion advice off Claire Danes in Romeo + Juliet. Klaus and Rebekah are both decked out in black because they’re evil and all that, plus they look terrific in these costumes.

Danai Gurira Instyle

The Walking Dead returned this week and hey they let Michonne smile for the first time ever and this made me very happy. As did her interactions with Rick (#Richonne4Eva). This photo of Danai Gurira is from the October issue of InStyle and it’s a stunning editorial; it is a completely different look to her Walking Dead character and the grim world it is set in.

A Precious Commodity

Once again the costuming on The Good Wife is impeccable and Diane looks like such a powerhouse as she negotiates with Will. The jacket is simple and the broach adds a bit of flare along with her dark rimmed glasses and red lipstick. We’re only 3 episodes in and The Good Wife has already dropped the mic several times as they build the tension and rip the firm apart from within. As with Scandal these clothes act as an armor for these characters and here Diane is showing that she isn’t going to give up without a fight. Olivia Pope would approve this look.

For Scandal and Masters of Sex costume posts head here and here.

Out of the Box: Look of the Week

19 Jul

It’s been a busy week with Emmy nominations, Comic-Con and magazine covers and this edition of “Out of the Box” covers all three. While it’s still very much the summer and my Scandal catch up is underway, it’s also time to look to returning shows like Breaking Bad  and from the activity on my Twitter feed most casts are returning to their shows for the fall season. As always this is a snapshot of what I have been watching and what news/photo shoots have caught my eye online and in print.

Winner: Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny at The X-Files Reunion Panel, Comic-Con

X Files Reunion

The X-Files holds a very special place in my TV watching history and the relationship between Mulder and Scully is a very big part of this. I have never been to Comic-Con but I know that if I was attending this year then this X-Files reunion panel would be number one on my list and from this ScreenFad live blog it sounds like it was a relaxed and fun affair. Both Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny look content and happy to be reunited in front of a large audience of fans and thrilled shippers all around the world when Anderson suggested that Mulder and Scully would “Have sex” on a date. Duchovny followed this up with “Then maybe dinner?”

Runner Up: Bryan Cranston for GQ

bryan-cranston-gq-magazine-august-2013-04

It’s been a good week for Bryan Cranston as he received an Emmy nomination and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame; he’s also on the cover of the August issue of GQ. The photo shoot has Cranston ditching the Heisenberg/Walter White threads (this is a far cry from standing in the desert in his underwear) and going for a tailored look. It’s a good choice and I don’t think we’ve ever seen him look this dreamy.

Runner Up: Aubrey Plaza for The New York Times

Aubrey Plaza NY Times

Aubrey Plaza is currently on the promotional trail for The To Do List and this includes a profile in The New York Times. Opting for a photo that wouldn’t look out of place on Instagram (because that is a thing we do now) the styling leans much older than the skort wearing teen that Plaza plays in The To Do List and is more polished than Plaza’s Parks and Recreation character April.

Aaron Paul and Neil Patrick Harris Announcing the 2013 Emmy Nominations

65th Primetime Emmy Nominations Announcement

I’m pretty sure there is nothing more adorable than Aaron Paul in polka dot bow tie (ok maybe his Price is Right appearance) and I’m sure he will offer something just as delightful at the Emmy awards come September. Here Paul is announcing the nominees for the 2013 Emmys and while I’m still simmering from some of the missing names/shows (like Hannibal, Jake Johnson and The Americans), Aaron Paul deservedly got another nomination for his role of Jesse Pinkman on Breaking Bad. Neil Patrick Harris looks just as dapper as always and was a late minute replacement for Kate Mara (she had travel issues) showing that even with short notice and at 5.30 am he’s always on it when it comes to hosting.
