Best of the 2016 SAG Awards Red Carpet Part 2

31 Jan

We’re back with more SAG Awards style highs including menswear, the Orange is the New Black cast and even more bold color.

For part 1 head here.

Idris ElbaThe man of the hour and double SAG Award winner Idris Elba (in both TV and movie categories) looking cool as fuck backstage with his two trophies.Jacob Tremblay9 year-old Jacob Tremblay is a tuxedo wearing expert by now and this three piece is another hit to add to every other one he worn so far. The adorable factor also remains strong.Rami MalekRami Malek is another repeat customer to these ‘best of’ awards posts and he ditches Dior for double-breasted Ovadia & Sons. Terrific pocket square pattern detail too. Stylist Ilaria Urbinati continues to do stellar work.Laverne CoxLaverne Cox goes full Grecian in a wine color Prabal Gurung and this side shot gives an excellent view of the dramatic caped element (always a fave).Uzo AdubaThe color looks great on Uzo Aduba – winning again for Best Comedy Actress – and I am always in the bag for pleats so this Zac Posen gown definitely does it for me.OITNBI love everything about this group shot of the Orange is the New Black cast on stage together after winning Best Comedy.Ellie KemperOne of the standout pattern gowns comes courtesy of Ellie Kemper in Peter Pilotto. Once again I do think this would benefit from a bold red lip.Claire Danes and Hugh DancyI will never get bored of these two at these things even if I do miss Hugh Dancy’s Will Graham curls. The block blue Stella McCartney gown is a little flattening, but the color is great on Claire Danes. Gonna change the record and suggest a hot pink lip to set the look off.Anna FarisA different play on red for Anna Faris in Naeem Khan looking super hot with a contrasting demure neckline and high leg slit.

Best of the 2016 SAG Awards Red Carpet Part 1

31 Jan

Another weekend, another awards red carpet. The SAGs are always a fun one because there is just as much glam, but as with the Critics’ Choice it seems like people are able to relax and mix it up a little. Especially those who have been part of this process for what feels like half a year now.

Plenty of winning looks to scroll through and for part 2 check head here.

Alicia VikanderEverything about this Louis Vuitton geometric gown is a sequin dream and this might be the best Alicia Vikander has looked all awards season (and she has looked pretty damn good). Rachel McAdamsThis red carpet cycle has also been very good to Rachel McAdams both sartorially and professionally with Spotlight continuing its winning streak (finally seeing it this afternoon). Beaded floral Elie Saab Haute Couture serves up so much drama that I’m willing to drop my usual “this needs a red lipstick” sentiment.Kiernan ShipkaFor Mad Men’s finale hurrah – shakes fist at Downton Abby for winning – Kiernan Shipka continues to show that she isn’t just one of the best dressed teens, but one of the best dressed in a beautiful Erdem gown. Marisa TomeiMarisa Tomei is the picture of cool elegance in a green beaded long sleeve – hitting two trends of this red carpet – in Zuhair Murad. Queen LatifahA sparkly long sleeve delight for 2016 SAG winner Queen Latifah in a killer Michael Costello gown.Maisie WilliamsThe Game of Thrones cast brought it big to the SAGs with Maisie Williams showing once again that she makes some very interesting choices. This time ditching Mexican wrestlers and 90s chokers for a bold blue textured tea length Ermanno Scervino frock. I bet it has pockets.

Sophie TurnerOnscreen sister and IRL BFF Sophie Turner going a little Scarlett O’Hara in Caroline Herrera and it’s really working for her. Maybe needs a dramatic lip color to go with the high drama of the gown.

Emilia ClarkePretty in pink for Emilia Clarke getting the bold color memo in Dior Haute Couture. A dress which JLaw is probably looking at and wondering why she hasn’t been offered it.

Sarah Paulson and Pedro PascalOh Pedro Pacal, I do miss you and your fun flamboyance on Game of Thrones. I’m on the fence with Sarah Paulson’s Armani Privé dress and I’m wondering how many Koosh balls were sacrificed to make it.

Michiel HuismanYou’re welcome.

Rooney and Kate MaraRooney and Kate Mara (neither sure of how to pronounce their surname if their chat on E! is anything to go by) both in Valentino, with Rooney very much leaning into her usual style. And it’s fine because it totally works.

Knitwear, Boots and Coats Galore at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival

25 Jan

In a sea of red carpets at this time of year Sundance stands out because heels are replaced by boots and wool is a predominant fabric. Plus the chance of sheer ruining an ensemble is dramatically reduced. Award season indulges in wish fulfillment aspects of fashion and the fancy pants levels are high; while I love the decadent and intricate details of gowns galore, there is something rather wonderful about the casual cool at the Sundance Film Festival.

What this boils down to is a combination of a several things including a love of all things winter wear – yes I have snow FOMO right now – with a dash of ‘stars they’re just like us’ and the kind of movies that are being showcased. Considering how many different knitted I am wearing right now (including leggings and long bootie socks) combined with how many sweater posts we have produced on TV Ate My Wardrobe it will come as no big surprise that I am in style heaven right now.

Aubrey Plaza and Jenny SlateApril Ludgate was an ultimate sweater queen and there was no doubt that Aubrey Plaza would not disappear from these pages when Parks and Recreation ended. At the Joshy premiere Plaza goes for a cozy ribbed sweater delight paired with skinny jeans, black boots and the always wonderful Jenny Slate. Also killing it with her boots choice, pleated skirt and sweater tee.

Amandla StenbergCeleb style lounges pretty much sound like the best thing especially when warm coats and boots are up for grabs so Sundance has this perk in the bag too. At Kari Feinstein’s Style Lounge Amandla Stenberg gives a good style lesson in long dress chunky knits; performing the double of super cozy and funky all at once.

Alison Brie SundanceAlso at the Kari Feinstein Style Lounge Alison Brie shows off fur hooded and toggle coat excellence demonstrating exactly why this is the ideal place for a freebie haul.

Chloe Sevigny and Natasha LyonneGetting whiffs of Grey Gardens and now picturing Chloë Sevigny and Natasha Lyonne as Big and Little Edie as they attend Lena Dunham and Planned Parenthood’s ‘Sex, Politics & Film’ cocktail reception. I mean this as a huge compliment. Sweater heaven continues.

Allison Janney and Sian HederWhere else would you see Allison Janney in green leather pants?! Extra points for the chunky roll neck sweater at the Tallulah premiere. Tallulah writer/director Sian Heder is pretty much wearing my platonic ideal of a casual outfit – boots/tights/striped dress – and I am very much looking forward to seeing this film.

Brianna HildebrandBrianna Hildebrand covers all the coat and patterned shirt bases at the First Girl I Loved premiere. Jeans are once again the pants of choice paired with – you guessed it – black boots.

To avoid this post being an endless scrolling exercise we’ve put the rest of our favorite Sundance looks in the gallery below. Just click on the image for a better look and so many more sweater, outerwear, boots and winter casual attire offerings.

For more Sundance be sure to check back for “Out of the Box: Look of the Week” on Friday and here are some highlights from last year including THAT Coach sweater I am still coveting.

Celebrating the Elle “Women in TV” Issue: Best of the Red Carpet

21 Jan

Elle’s annual Women in TV issue hit it out of the park this year with five fabulous covers and content featuring a lot of the ladies who attended last night’s dinner celebration. There’s plenty of pattern, color and twists on black ensembles that manage to make an impact in this VERY crowded red carpet season.

Priyanka ChopraStarting with the cover stars (sadly Taraji P. Henson and Julia Louis-Dreyfus were not in attendance) and the color of this Vionnet dress is incredible on Priyanka Chopra. It’s also giving off so many summer vibes, which considering how many layers of wool based clothes I’m wearing right now means the levels of envy are high.

Viola DavisA fun take on the LBD from Viola Davis in Carmen Marc Valvo and a whole lot of excellent accessories to boot including a fabulous mirrored Vince Camuto clutch.

Olivia WildeOlivia Wilde made our Best Dressed end of year list in a (different) leather jacket and once again she puts this garment to excellent use over the Rocky Horror themed Marc Jacobs dress. Amazing Kurt Geiger shoes round this whole look off rather well.

Constance WuSuch a simple and yet super effective ensemble from Constance Wu and the green clutch adds that extra pow to the whole thing.

Constance ZimmerMore excellent green decisions from another Constance and suede is not the easiest of fabrics to pull off in dress form, but Constance Zimmer does so with ease. This has been a very good week for her.

Aja Naomi King and Yara ShahidiLove the relaxed ease of Yara Shahidi’s shirt dress even if I would definitely wear a different shoe to go with it and they would work much better with something shorter such as Aja Naomi Kings’ white mini delight.

Sara RafterySarah Rafferty’s outfit combines a lot of things I love right now – a bold floral pattern, pockets and a black turtleneck

Busy PhilippsBusy Philipps looks super funky in a black and white mini and it is the extra flourishes from her very non-beige pumps to the Olympia Le-Tan Jane Eyre embroidered clutch (my ultimate wish list includes The Bell Jar from this collection) that make this one of the standouts from the night.

Samira WileyAn effortless chic look from Samira Wiley in a classic black jumpsuit.

Melanie LynskeyCombing two of the big current trends – bold color with florals – is Melanie Lynskey in this hot pink frock and I’m really looking forward to Togetherness being back on TV next month.

Lana ParrillaOnce Upon a Time’s Lana Parrilla gold sequin infused dress is pretty much my ideal outfit for an event like this; sparkly, not too tight and with a hint of the 1970s.

Kirsten DunstMore Marc Jacobs for the evening and the only thing I would add here is Kirsten Dunst’s lipstick from the Critics’ Choice Awards.Gillian JacobsAnother outfit that could be boosted with a bold lip color, but Gillian Jacobs is giving off all the cool vibes in this front zipped LBD even if those shoes look a whole lot painful.

Best of the Pre-Golden Globes Parties

10 Jan

A prelude to the main event tonight and two more daytime shindigs with the BAFTA awards season tea (with actual tea and for some reason a no selfie policy) and the 2016 Film Independent Filmmaker Grant and Spirit Award Nominees Brunch. Not quite living up to the sartorial offerings from the AFI Awards luncheon on Friday and this was a big case of scroll down nightmare when going through the photos; however there are still several outfits to love, some I am still not sure about and dudes in suits that are not black.

Alicia VikanderBy far my favorite look from the day and Alicia Vikander is high up on the most anticipated list for Golden Globes dresses tonight. This red striped Altuzarra is such a breath of fresh air much like most of her red carpet choices.

Caitriona BalfeAlso going for something simple and cool is Caitriona Balfe in a belted tuxedo inspired LBD (with pockets!). Also reminding me that yep, I still need to get back on the Outlander watch.

Nathalie EmmanuelNathalie Emmanuel edges towards maybe too casual, but also this is a really cute outfit so I’m gonna say it is more than fine. Still on the lookout for the perfect leather pleated skirt and this one combined with the white tee fits this description. The dash of pattern on her silk headband and bag also help make this outfit pop.

Also this is all kinds of lovely.

Mark RuffaloDigging the suit and grey sweater look on Mark Ruffalo.

Michael ShannonThe jacket is maybe a tad too short, but I really like what Michael Shannon is going for here.

Nyle ANTMOh hey there Nyle! I really wanted you to win ANTM and yet I still haven’t watched the final episode (thanks Twitter spoiler for that). Glad to see him on the red carpet circuit and following on from Ryan Gosling wearing something from the brown palette. Priyanka ChopraThis is one of two dresses that I can’t quite work out if I like or not and there is so much going on with Priyanka Chopra’s Alex Perry frock (sounding a lot like Alex Parrish – her Quantico character). Maybe the top half should be stick to one black texture and that would make it seem less chaotic. Her face looks really great though.

Brie Larson and Saoirse Ronan are two more names on our most anticipated list for tonight and while I wasn’t enamored by either frock choice at this BAFTA event, this photo I adore.

Rooney MaraThe second of the ‘on the fence’ frocks and Rooney Mara wore this to both the Film Independent Spirit Award brunch and the BAFTA tea – wearing the same thing to two events when you are attending this many is beyond fine in my eyes – and it is definitely very Rooney Mara in both color scheme and style. Definitely edging closer to love than eh.

Rami MalekYesterday I hit the BIG REVEAL episode of Mr Robot and while I was already aware of part of the twist, the execution and Rami Malek’s performance delivered and it didn’t really matter that I had been spoiled. Malek continues to go for buttoned up sans tie and I am so into this style choice on him. It is also nice to see him out of Elliot’s trademark hoodie.

Mad Men Reunion and More at the 16th Annual AFI Awards

9 Jan

It’s only the first week of January and already it feels like we are in the full thick of it when it comes to award season. Tomorrow is the Golden Globes which means plenty of pre-parties tonight, but first there is the AFI Awards luncheon showcasing the best of the year in television and film with 10 titles from each getting honored. These include Mad MenBlack-ishMr RobotUnREAL and Master of None on the TV side and Room, The Big ShortCarol and Spotlight on the film end. For the full list of honorees head here.

As it is a daytime event the looks are slightly more casual and while I love a fancy gown and dudes in tuxedos (and see also ladysuits), these are actually my ideal kind of outfits. Pattern dominates once again much to my delight and the guys are really bringing it with an array of suit/jacket choices; variety is not something you will be seeing a lot of in the dude department tomorrow night (well at least we have Alan Cumming to count on).

Kiernan Shipka, January Jones and Jon HammOne to feature in the Kodak Carousel collection and I’m getting all emotional just thinking about how Mad Men left these three characters. Jon Hamm’s blue plaid is an excellent choice for this cocktail reception in what will be a sea of black this weekend. Kiernan Shipka and January Jones have coordinated, but not in a way that looks too matchy matchy; Shipka’s collar detail and Jones’ red lipstick are both fantastic. This picture is everything.

Brie Larson and Jacob TemblayBrie Larson continuing her week of sartorial highs in this super pretty Gucci floral dress with a twist; pink snakes weaving through the foliage. Another collar to love and she looks entirely at home with one of the best dressed guys of award season. Yes I know Jacob Tremblay is only nine, but he is showing how it’s done from formal wear to tweed sports coats.

Christian Slater, Portia Doubleday and Carly ChaikinMore floral dress treats from the Mr Robot ladies with Portia Doubleday and Carly Chaikin also getting the excellent collar memo. Christian Slater isn’t looking too shabby either.

Yara Shahidi, Miles Brown, Marcus Sribner, Marsai MartinThe kids from Black-ish are also rocking various prints including Marsai Martin’s polka dot delight, plus more plaid from Miles Brown. Teens Yara Shahidi and Marcus Scribner don’t let the side down and all age groups are covered in the high style stakes.

Tracee Ellis RossTheir onscreen mom Tracee Ellis Ross is also killing it in with a) more standout prints, b) another fabulous collar and c) red lip color bliss.

Constance Zimmer and Sarah Gertrude ShapiroI have a feeling the UnREAL table is a whole lot of fun and I’m very much feeling co-creator Sarah Gertrude Shapiro’s all-black ensemble with the dash of gold jewelry especially when paired with Constance Zimmer super sweet pink look. The shoulders on Zimmer’s dress are giving off Star Trek costume vibes and I am here for it.

Aziz AnsariAziz Ansari is a guy we can count on to turn out look super sharp and this is no exception.

Ryan GoslingSimple and effective from Ryan Gosling in a great brown suit with a super relaxed stance on the open collar.

Rami MalekRami Malek is also going for the no tie option (which is more than fine for a daytime event like this), but the button done up thing is definitely better for his whole aesthetic.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens World Premiere Red Carpet Highlights

15 Dec

Pulling out the sartorial big guns at one of THE red carpet events of 2015 with the world premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. There’s glitz, sheer I don’t hate, adorable pairings, people who aren’t in the film (but still look great nonetheless) and some after party jacket delights.

Lupita Nyong'oLighting up proceedings wherever she goes is Lupita Nyong’o wearing a sparkly Alexandre Vauthier couture gown. The black band across the middle kinda cuts her in two, but she’s pulling it off and continuing her red carpet reign.

Daisy RidleyDaisy Ridley’s already shown that she’s not all about the simple choices and this white tiered Chloe number tiptoes towards a fairy tale frock without feeling too princess. Opting for a soft smoky eye and a 50s curl (seeing Carol everywhere) gives this look an edge and I’m excited to see what Ridley will wear at the London premiere tonight.

Gwendoline ChristieThis might be a Magical Fashion Unicorn situation, but I am so here for Gwendoline Christie rocking all this tulle in a custom Oscar de la Renta. Christie is always a red carpet highlight because she goes there and I am so pleased to see she has gone big for this premiere.

John BoyegaAlso having fun with his look is John Boyega working a purple tux and single leather glove. An homage to Luke Skywalker?

Carrie Fisher and Billie LourdCarrie Fisher does not give any of the fucks and this press tour has been all the better because of it. Swearing up a storm and causing Billie Lourd to pull the best face on the red carpet only makes me heart Carrie Fisher more (if that is possible). Great outfit choices from both ladies.

Oscar IsaacIf you like Oscar Isaac being dreamy, dashing and somewhat flirtatious then this is the press tour for you (see Tumblr for all the examples).

Oscar Isaac and Adam DriverAdorable.

Elizabeth BanksMoving into the ‘people who are not in this film, but look great’ section and these gowns choices shouldn’t be about competing/overshadowing the stars of the movie. Elizabeth Banks stays in her lane looking cool and effortless in this patterned (and pocketed!) Elie Saab frock.

Joe and SofiaNewlyweds Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello have a post honeymoon glow (not that they don’t always look this good) and Vergara’s doing the Leia bun thing (this is the one time I wish I had longer hair so I could rock this hairstyle).

Constance ZimmerBlack and white lines break up the red rose pattern on Constance Zimmer’s dress and maybe the shoes are one black step too far (I think the third strap is the issue), but I like the overall idea of this ensemble. And any excuse to think about/mention UnREAL is fine by me.

Daisy Ridley and Billie LourdBack to those in the movie and the after party with excellent jacket work from Daisy Ridley and Billie Lourd. I kinda think only one of these jackets was meant for the outfit in question.

Lupita and DavidOnce again Lupita edges up an outfit with a jacket and here she’s gone for leather over quilted; I am so here for this choice. Plus we get a closer look at the sparkly detail of her dress. Also going for leather is David Oyelowo and yep this is really good party pairing.

Best of the 2015 Glamour Women of the Year Awards

10 Nov

There is not a whole lot of 2015 left and time has a way of flying by as we near those end of year lists (I need to start working on mine) and last night the Glamour Women of the Year Awards were held at Carnegie Hall in New York City. This is always one of my favorites because it celebrates a range of women and achievements and I just feel so darn positive afterwards. For more on this year’s recipients head here.

Viola DavisViola Davis’ daughter dressed up as her mother winning an Emmy for Halloween and it was pretty much the most adorable costume ever. Davis is onto another winner in red and black with some really excellent accessorizing.

Lupita Nyong'oWe’re almost at Star Wars press tour time, which means we are in for a treat with way more Lupita Nyong’o red carpet looks are ahead of us. Going for understated elegance in Jason Wu and working it like a charm while on hand to present Misty Copeland with her award.

Dascha PolancoDascha Polanco is serving up caped excellence and giving amazing face. I think this is her best red carpet look to date.

Danielle BrooksAnother fabulous turn from an Orange is the New Black star with Danielle Brooks in a color blocking delight. Oh hey there pockets! Just to make this even better. Brooks is in Aziz Ansari’s new show Master of None and next season needs more of Dev’s ambitious agent Shannon, who is all about getting that Friends money.

Alex MorganThe whole US Women’s soccer team was honored at the event; deservedly so after their World Cup win and Alex Morgan’s red and purple floral gown is beautiful. More pocket plus points getting dished out.

SerenaSports stars slaying all over the place with Serena Williams demonstrating how to do sheer in a way that doesn’t make me want to weep from boredom.

Victoria and Brooklyn BeckhamThe big trends of the night were red and black; these tend to be in favor this time of year and Victoria Beckham embraced crimson in a dress from her own collection. Well if you are getting honored for your work in fashion then it makes sense to showcase your work. Brooklyn Beckham continues to follow in his father’s footsteps by looking rather dapper all suited up.

Amy, Eve and SelenaMore red and one thing I like about this photo other than the perfect red dress symmetry is how random this grouping is; I am so here for groups of people you don’t expect posing together. Amy Schumer’s red Alexander McQueen is a switch up from the LBDs she’s been sporting recently and I love a flared sleeve. Selena Gomez is mixing sweet with sexy in Valentino and Eve Hewson embraces the 90s with a lipstick Winona would be proud of.

Misty CopelandTurtlenecks are in favor again and Misty Copeland shows how they can be worn in a formal setting like this; playing with this classic look as she picks up her Woman of the Year Award.

Elisabeth MossMore 90s lipstick realness from Elisabeth Moss and she’s hitting the vampy line hard in this velvet and sheer frock. There is a danger of looking too washed out when your hair is this blonde and I’m not feeling the shoes, but 90s nostalgia wins out for me here because I am a sucker for this.

Reese WitherspoonOkay so I’m not crazy about Reese Witherspoon’s Erdem dress – the floral pattern/texture is great, it’s the lace neckline that makes it too fussy – but I love everything about her speech. Reese talks about her acting career and how ambition shouldn’t be a dirty word. She also discusses her production company and the exciting slate they have ahead:

“We have over 25 films in development and three television shows, and they all have female leads of different ages and different races and different jobs. Some are astronauts, some are soldiers, some are scientists, one is even a Supreme Court justice. They’re not just good or bad; they’re bold and hunted and dangerous and triumphant like the real women we meet every single day of our lives.”

The full speech is really inspiring and while I am in danger of sounding corny I do always feel extra motivated after reading about events like this.

Judith Light, Caitlyn Jenner and Cindi LeiveOne final and super fun photo with Glamour editor-in-chief Cindi Leive hanging out with Woman of the Year, Caitlyn Jenner and the always amazing Judith Light. Light presented Jenner with her award and this is another great dress color symmetry shot. I also love that Jenner has taken her shoes off by this point because I am incapable of keeping a pair of heels on all night.

Best of the Emmy Red Carpet – Bold Color and Print

21 Sep

Pink was not the only color on the Emmy red carpet and this is one of the brightest and boldest displays in recent years with a lot less monochromatic offerings. We’ve given you sparkle, now here are some patterned treats.

Ellie KemperEllie Kemper didn’t get nominated for The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, but she more than makes up for this in a stunning multi-color Naeem Khan dress; definitely a top 5 pick.

Zoe KazanBetween Ellie Kemper and Zoe Kazan I am getting rather mesmerized by their frocks; Kazan’s red and white Miu Miu is perfect for her twee styling, which I adore. Red lipstick points ahoy!

Laverne CoxA flawless look for Laverne Cox in a teal Calvin Klein Collection dress.

Mindy KalingCanary gowns will forever have to stand up to the Best Oscar Gown and Mindy Kaling’s custom Salavador Perez is definitely striking and the highlight of the 2015 Emmy yellow frock push.

Lauren LapkusThe pattern, cut and color is gorgeous on Lauren Lapkus and I would love it if she returned to Orange is the New Black.

Kristen SchaalKristen Schaal and Lauren Lapkus could definitely play sisters and someone should get on that. Meanwhile Kristen Schaal is resplendent in shimmering Rubin Singer.

Judith LightJudith Light slaying in floral Zac Posen.

Maggie GyllenhaalGoing for big colorful ball gown Oscar de la Renta and Maggie Gyllenhaal doesn’t over accessorize this already dramatic look.

Kiernan ShipkaWe’ve entered the “I don’t know why Dior keep doing this” portion and I’m including this to show that Kiernan Shipka is very much a Magical Fashion Unicorn, but she deserves so much better than this.

January JonesThe same can be said for January Jones and she is certainly working the Ulyana Sergeenko Couture jumpsuit, but the draping is causing me to pull all kinds of confused faces. The color and brooch are stunning and yet I really wish this was a dress or a slightly more tailored jumpsuit.

January and ElisabethIn fact from behind it looks better and this shot with former co-star Elisabeth Moss is giving me all the feelings.

Danielle BrooksA twirling dream from Danielle Brooks in pleated custom Christian Siriano. Whenever I wear a pleated skirt or dress I spend half my day twirling. I don’t get much done.

Emily RobinsonThe cut of Emily Robinson’s Kayat gown reminds me of Caitlin Fitzgerald at the Golden Globes and it is working just as well for Robinson in this delicate print.

Chelsea Peretti and Jordan PeeleBest couple alert! A fun floral contrast from Chelsea Peretti in Gabriela Cadena and Jordan Peele doing the standard tuxedo thing.

Teyonah ParrisTeyonah Parris twirls in Francesca Miranda polka dots in this stunning mid-action shot.

Viola Davis EmmyClosing our Emmy gown rundown with THE moment of the night and Viola Davis winning Best Actress in a Drama. The Carmen Marc Valvo dress is amazing, her speech is better and you can watch it below.

For all our Emmy red carpet highlights head here and here.

Best of the Emmy 2015 Red Carpet – Pretty in Pink

21 Sep

So much color on the Emmy red carpet this year and while the yellow trend was trying to happen, the pink frocks caused a much bigger impact.

Elisabeth MossStarting with the boldest of pink tones with Elisabeth Moss in a magenta Oscar de la Renta gown and somehow she has not and will not win an Emmy for Mad Men. Glad to see her going for a lip color which is just as strong as her dress.

Samira Wiley EmmysSamira Wiley looks like a fabulous superhero in caped fuchsia Jill Stuart.

Christine BaranskiChristine Baranski forever slaying in hot pink Zac Posen.

Uzo AdubaMore hot pink offerings and this time a dash of navy breaks things up on Uzo Aduba’s charming custom Jonathan Cohen halter neck gown.

Jessica PareThe Mad Men cast were out in force and celebrating in style with Jessica Pare joining the pink ladies in an ethereal draped frock.

Maisie WilliamsMaisie Williams is a lady after my own heart as she adores a dress with pockets and I adore this pink quilted dress paired with heels; so many Clueless related feelings. Cher would be all over this.

Jane KrawkowskiGiving us much needed posing drama in Bibhu Mohapatra is Jane Krakowski.

Yael StoneThe problem with posing in front of light backboards is lighter dress tones such as Yael Stone’s kinda disappear, but thankfully she is giving good twirl to show off this super pretty frock.

Joanne FroggattOne final pink and Joanne Froggatt looks like she is beating the heat in this floaty and romantic J. Mendel dress with a dash of train extravagance.

More Emmy red carpet coverage can be found here and here.
