Our final post in the scroll heavy day after the Golden Globes red carpet highlights rundown. There are a lot of really amazing looks and here you will find the best black and white dresses, some suit treats and a bit of bold pattern. For more from our Golden Globe coverage head here and here.Issa Rae looks incredible in a long sleeve custom Christian Siriano; this is how you do white to an awards show without coming across bridal.
Mullet dresses tend to be an instant no for me, but not in the case of Janelle Monáe who is working her signature black and white palette with aplomb in custom Armani Privé. Texture and material mixing never looked better.
Good news for Crazy Ex-Girlfriend fans as a season renewal was announced yesterday prior to the Golden Globes and nominee Rachel Bloom does black with a floral twist in another custom Christian Siriano.
Also hands down (boom) Bloom has the best nail art of the night.Atlanta won big much to my delight and Zazie Beetz manages to look both super modern and classic in a two-tone Delphine Manivet black gown.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus is very much an awards staple and she’s got the whole gown thing down; this time going for a simple but striking Georges Chakra black and white number.
The man of the hour and Donald Glover won both Best Actor in a Comedy and his show Atlanta won the big prize too. Glover was the standout guy on the red carpet (h/t our guy stylist fave Ilaria Urbinati) in brown velvet Gucci. This is ’70s inspiration at its best.
And now for a classic tux from Riz Ahmed in Dolce and Gabbana.
There weren’t a lot of standout prints at the Globes this year, but Laura Dern left her mark in floral Burberry.
You don’t often get leopard print during award season and yet Keri Russell is here to show how to incorporate this style by going a bit Fleetwood Mac/Stevie Nicks (TUSK) in her choice of J. Mendel. The choker is obviously an issue for me because chokers, but I love their whole vibe that they bring to the red carpet. See also the reason I have Mouse Rat stuck in my head.
